XSEED Games, the independent-minded console publishing brand of Marvelous USA, today announced that the latest iteration in its beloved farming and life simulation series, Story of Seasons: Trio of Towns, will launch in North America for Nintendo 3DSTM hand-held system on February 28, 2017. The game has a suggested retail price of $39.99, and a pocket plushie based on the loveable new in-game capybara pet – adorably dubbed “Capy-san” by XSEED Games – is available as a pre-order item while supplies last at participating retailers. The company also revealed that costumes and headgear based on fan-favorite characters Mario, Luigi, Princess Peach and Toad from the Super Mario Bros. franchise will make a special appearance in the game.

Players can boost their progress in Story of Seasons: Trio of Towns with four Super Mario Bros. themed character costumes and headgear, each with their own unique effects:

• Mario’s Outfit and Hat: Mama mia! The iconic plumber's signature red and blue uniform gives your running speed a boost.

• Luigi's Outfit and Hat: Luigi's costume will improve your luck at fishing. Others will be green with envy!

• Princess Peach’s Dress and Tiara: This regal dress and tiara will make you better friends with other characters. Sweet!

• Toad’s Outfit and Hat: The tireless Toad's outfit causes your stamina to recharge automatically over time.

In celebration of the upcoming 20th anniversary of the longest-running farming and life simulation series, the beloved Bokujo Monogatari franchise – now known as Story of Seasons in the West – returns with its biggest adventure yet in Story of Seasons: Trio of Towns. XSEED Games Reveals Upcoming Windows PC Release of Senran Kagura: Estival Versus

XSEED Games, the independent-minded console publishing brand of Marvelous USA, today announced that Senran Kagura Estival Versus, the latest iteration and first home console release in its beloved busty brawler series, is headed to Windows PC via Steam. Slated to release this March, the Windows PC version of Estival Versus will launch with the game’s long-awaited crossover DLC pack featuring characters from the Battle Vixens manga and anime series, also known outside of North America as Ikki Tousen.

Ikki Tousen characters Sun Ce, Lu Bu, and Guan Yu will finally become playable characters as premium DLC across all of the game’s platforms, which include the PlayStation 4 computer entertainment system, PlayStation Vita handheld entertainment system, and Windows PC versions. The addition of the three battle vixens is sure to spice things up near the one-year anniversary of the game’s console debut.

In Senran Kagura Estival Versus, a mystical phenomenon transports the nubile ninjas of the titular series to a parallel dimension to face off against their rivals in a new kind of battle. In this strange world – which resembles a sunny, sandy island paradise – the girls are thrown for another loop as they encounter departed loved ones and ultimately have to decide if they can bear to part from them a second time. The Windows PC version of Estival Versus follows successful Steam releases of previous entries in the Senran Kagura series, including Senran Kagura: Shinovi Versus and Senran Kagura: Bon Appétit! – Full Course.

With over twenty-five playable characters, making this the biggest roster in the series’ history, Senran Kagura Estival Versus boasts more moves, more story, more attitude, and more destruction online with matches that can support up to 10 players (Windows PC and PS4 system versions only; “PS Vita” system supports up to 4 players). All of the series’ previous Shinobi girls return with a host of upgraded moves to master, and new playable characters offer more challenges to conquer, along with a story that's equal parts sexy and shocking, serious and scandalous, busty and bouncy.

The faithful adaptation to PC has been handled by the original developers at Marvelous Inc. and Tamsoft, with added Steamworks support including Steam Achievements, leaderboards, cloud saves, and trading cards. XSEED Games will be publishing Senran Kagura Estival Versus on Windows PC via Steam this March. The title is currently available as a limited “Endless Summer” physical release for the PS4 and “PS Vita” systems, while the digital release of the game is available on the PlayStation Store.

Capy-san Reveals Dapper Dudes of Story of Seasons: Trio of Towns

XSEED Games, the independent-minded console publishing brand of Marvelous USA, today announced details on the five eligible bachelors players can court in Story of Seasons: Trio of Towns, the 20th anniversary entry in the farming-sim franchise. The venerable in-game capybara pet “Capy-san” returned to introduce the bachelors in the new video about the romance options in the trio of towns as the game nears its February 28th launch on the Nintendo 3DSTM family of systems. Due to high demand, fans of Capy-san who preorder the game at participating retailers will receive their very own capybara ‘pocket plushie’ while supplies last. Capy-san, the in-game capybara pet and pocket plushie, had this to say: In Tsuyukusa, couples exchange chocolate on Valentine’s Day, and my heart filled with joy seeing all the lovebirds celebrating this week. Hinata, the bachelor who works at the wholesale store, told me he’s still waiting for the right person to come along. Meet the Bachelors

By day, Hinata uses his gift of the gab to sell items in a Tsuyukusa shop, but in his spare time he gets closer to his dream of becoming the star player in an acting troupe. Making accessories in his grandparents’ workshop in South Tsuyukusa, Yuzuki always has two things on his mind; his next design and his next dessert. Ford has found his life’s calling as Westown’s doctor, but he’s so high-strung. Hopefully someone will come along and teach him how to relax. Ford’s best friend, Wayne, is the town postman. He was nervous about moving to the countryside, but the fresh food, air, and friendly folks have won him over. Offering various services in his shop, Ludus is a “jack of all trades,” the village handyman who helps residents of Lulukoko Village with everything from construction to tailoring.

Shinobi Refle: Senran Kagura is a “pure and wholesome” title featuring only Asuka

The latest issue of Weekly Famitsu has an interview with Senran Kagura series producer Kenichiro Takaki on the newly announced Shinobi Refle: Senran Kagura for Switch.

HD rumble is a particularly fascinating feature of Nintendo Switch. I expect that we’ll be able to do various things that we couldn’t do with the rumble function before.

As for what kind of things we’ll be able to do in Shinobi Refle using HD rumble, right now I’ll leave that to your imagination.

We’re basically aiming for a pure and wholesome Senran Kagura, and our main objective is to convey the feelings of the characters through HD rumble.

The story will be charmingly stupid. You’ll be able to enjoy a different story than before.

As an affordably priced, download-only game, this is a concept title based on HD rumble.

Asuka will be the only character to appear.

Asuka’s graphics are being rebuilt from the ground up. I want to beautifully express the portrayal of light despite its anime style.

We’re considering making use of Switch features other than HD rumble.

Switch is considerably easy to develop for. Other than Shinobi Refle: Senran Kagura, I’m also considering other titles that make use of Switch’s features.

Shinobi Refle: Senran Kagura will launch for Switch as a digital-only title in Japan in 2017.

Valkyrie Drive: Bhikkhuni is coming to PC via Steam worldwide this summer, Marvelous announced.

The PC version will feature full 1080p, 60 frames per section graphics with support for even higher resolutions, as well as Steam achievements, trading cards, and cloud saving.

All previously released downloadable content for the PS Vita version of the game will also be made available for the PC version. This additional content, which includes a wide range of cosmetics and costumes, alongside characters such as Mirei Shikishima and Mamori Tokonome from Valkyrie Drive: Mermaid, will be available to purchase as a launch bundle with the base game, or as a separate downloadable content pack.

XSEED Announces Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin Localization ~ PS4 & PC

   

XSEED Games Reveals First Title in E3 Lineup - Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin

XSEED Games, the independent-minded publishing brand of Marvelous USA, is pleased to reveal the first title in its E3 2017 lineup: Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin. Developed by Edelweiss, the talented indie creators of the highly rated sci-fi shoot-’em-up Astebreed, and revealed last year in Japan at Comic Market 90, Sakuna offers a genre-defying mixture of side-scrolling action with the complexities of rice cultivation set against the mystical backdrop of Japanese mythology. Sakuna is now confirmed for release in North America on the PlayStation 4 computer entertainment system and Windows PC, and will be playable in English for the first time at the 2017 Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) on June 13 - 15 in Los Angeles.

In Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin, players take on the role of Sakuna, a proud yet lonely harvest goddess who is banished to a dangerous island with a group of outcast humans. Sakuna tames the island by defeating demons using farm tools as weapons while also making ample use of her “celestial scarf,” a magical item that allows her to grapple distant enemies and platforms. Along the way, she establishes a home in a mountain village, which serves as a base of operations for crafting weapons and cooking food. Additionally, as a harvest goddess, she grows rice by following a detailed process that encompasses everything from planting to harvesting. Through this process, across each of the four seasons, she’s able to improve the harvest and hone her battle skills alike.

The painstakingly researched storyline incorporates Japanese history and legend, with its heroine facing off against numerous types of demons, great and small, as she traverses detailed landscapes rich with the iconography of classic Japanese mythology. A love letter to Japanese culture, Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin is also an ode to the artistry of cultivating rice, and features an engrossing simulation of the craft behind the agriculture.

Developed by Edelweiss and published in North America by XSEED Games, Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin is in development for the PS4 system and Windows PC and is scheduled for release in 2018.

XSEED Announces Zwei: The Ilvard Insurrection for the West







XSEED Games Brings Girl Power, Newly Revealed Titles, and Fan Appearance With Senran Kagura Producer to E3 2017

XSEED Games, the independent-minded publishing brand of Marvelous USA, today announced its exciting lineup of games, both newly announced and reintroduced via new platforms, which will be playable for the very first time at the 2017 Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) from June 13 – 15 in Los Angeles. Revealed today is Zwei: The Ilvard Insurrection for Windows PC, a quirky and charmingly presented 3D action RPG from acclaimed developer Nihon Falcom, which was originally released in Japan as Zwei II Plus.

The company will also showcase a number of titles that star powerful, distinctive female protagonists, including Senran Kagura Peach Beach Splash and Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin for the PlayStation 4 computer entertainment system, the upcoming Nintendo SwitchTM edition of Shantae: Half-Genie Hero with its feature-rich Risky Boots DLC, and the upcoming Nintendo Switch edition of Fate/Extella: The Umbral Star.







As the show is open to the public this year, Senran Kagura series producer Kenichiro Takaki will attend for his first-ever American fan appearance, which will take place on Thursday, June 15 from 3:00 – 5:00 PM PDT. In addition, XSEED Games will be selling games and merchandise from their online store at their booth for the entirety of the show.
