Bloomberg Rumor: New Rock Band in development for PS4 & Xbox One
全新《摇滚乐队》游戏将登陆次世代主机平台


  开发商Harmonix已经开始制作全新的《摇滚乐队》游戏,根据一位据称“熟知开发计划”的人士称,本次的新作将是完全为次世代主机平台打造的,当然官方并没有给出任何评论。

  其实对于Harmonix来说制作一款曾经风靡全球的音乐游戏的续作并不让人吃惊,毕竟开发商对于在次世代平台上复活这个系列有着长远的打算。上个月Harmonix推出了一份调查问卷,询问粉丝们他们希望在新的《摇滚乐队》游戏中看到什么样的要素。而另一个需要大家注意的就是,在时隔两年之后Harmonix又一次推出了《摇滚乐队》的最新DLC,让人们不由得想到开发商或许有更大的打算。

  同时,根据最新的媒体报道,Harmonix将在即将举行的PAX EAST展会上进行发布会,届时可能会有新作的相关消息出现。



New Rock Band Game Said to Be Developed for Latest Consoles

Rock Band, the video-game series where players jam along to recorded music, is developing a new title, the first since 2012, according to a person familiar with the plan.

Harmonix Music Systems Inc. is creating the new game for the latest generation of consoles, such as Sony Corp.’s PlayStation 4 and Microsoft Corp.’s Xbox One, said the person, who asked not to be named because the matter is private.

NEPRO JAPAN收购tri-ace 后者以后去做手游


  NEPRO JAPAN于2月20日发表公告,称其已经完成对著名游戏开发商tri-ace的收购。tri-ace简称3A,曾经开发过《星之海洋》、《女神侧身像》这样的经典RPG系列,其最近的动作是和SEGA合作开发《梦幻之星 NOVA》以及PSV免费游戏《背叛者代码》。

  而NEPRO JAPAN是一家以经营手机通讯为主的企业,同时也会参与一些手机游戏的开发。在收购tri-ace之后将会进一步强化其手机游戏的业务。

Japanese developer tri-Ace (Star Ocean, Resonance of Fate, etc) has been purchased by mobile developer Nepro Japan. According to the documents accompanying the announcement, Nepro Japan is looking to broaden its mobile development for phones and tablets, venturing into new genres with the help of tri-Ace’s dev prowess.

Neverwinter Coming to Xbox One on March 31

Today, Perfect World Entertainment Inc., a leading publisher of free-to-play MMORPGs, and Cryptic Studios announced that Neverwinter will be available for Xbox One, the all-in-one games and entertainment system from Microsoft, on March 31. At launch, Neverwinter will include all the content from the base game, all current playable classes including the Scourge Warlock and the Tyranny of Dragons expansion.

Neverwinter on Xbox One brings a full-fledged roleplaying experience with a living social world allowing players to experience Dungeons & Dragons adventures with their friends. Neverwinter on Xbox One will also utilize console features including friends list integration and optimized controls to easily transition the MMORPG experience from PC to console.

Neverwinter is a free-to-play action MMORPG that features fast-paced combat and epic dungeons. Players explore the vast city of Neverwinter and its surrounding countryside, learning the vivid history of the iconic city in the Forgotten Realms and battling its many enemies. Neverwinter is currently available on PC and will be launching digitally for Xbox One, available free-to-play with Gold on March 31 from the Xbox Games Store.

Lionsgate Invest in Leading Game Developer Telltale Games

As part of the continued diversification of its content business and recent entry into the game space, Lionsgate, a premier next generation global content leader, has made a significant investment in leading game developer and publisher Telltale Games, the two companies announced today. As part of its investment, Lionsgate Chief Executive Officer Jon Feltheimer will also join the Telltale Board of Directors.

The investment will continue the extension of Lionsgate's film and television brands into the game space and will bring Lionsgate's expertise in creating and marketing premium content to Telltale's unique narrative-driven, storytelling approach to gaming. The collaboration will also enable the two companies to explore opportunities to co-develop existing and original IP into episodic games and television.

Telltale has emerged as an industry leader in narrative-driven episodic games with the blockbuster hit The Walking Dead, which has sold 8.5 million copies and topped sales charts on Xbox Live, PlayStation Network and Steam, as well as the hit Game of Thrones, based on the smash television series, The Wolf Among Us, the episodic interactive graphic adventure video game based on Bill Willingham's Fables comic book, and Tales from the Borderlands, Telltale's adaptation of the acclaimed PC, Mac and console video game title from Gearbox Software and 2K Games.

We’re working with Sierra to bring Velocity 2X to PC/Mac/Linux and Xbox One! That is to say the port is being done by us, and being published by Sierra.


Did you see this: Sierra reborn?

What about this: Sierra: “Quality and passion will always pay off”?

We did, and we were delighted to receive an email from Sierra soon afterward asking if we’d be interested in working with them.

“Hell yes!”, we said.

Why?

Because self publishing is HARD. I spent more time doing PR and marketing on Velocity 2X than I spent designing levels. I became a bottleneck for the whole project. That was far from ideal.

Thanks to blogging it’s now common knowledge that marketing is just as important as making a great-innovative-artistically-stunning-multiple-award-winning-GOTY (some people might say more important).

So, given that marketing is vital to success, who could be better suited to hold aloft our creations than Sierra? The best bit is that we retain control of our IP…

Oh yes that is cool, as we’re now free to focus on what really matters: dat silky gameplay.

Future

Working with Sierra is therefore an important step forward for FuturLab, and...

...our relationship doesn’t end with Velocity 2X... ;)

It’s hard to believe that it was only last summer that we received funding for a Hunger prototype. We’ve been hard at work ever since, bringing you the perfect version of Six’s adventures deep down in The Maw. With the core of the game now well underway, it’s proving to be everything we’d hoped for – fun, exciting, and pretty darn creepy!

At its heart, Hunger is a simple idea. A young girl is trapped in a labyrinth full of monsters and wants to escape. It will be your job to help her do this. It’s a genre we’re calling ‘suspense-adventure’, on account of the fact that there will be plenty of both. Coupled with an unnerving ‘Dollhouse Perspective’, tactile controls, and characters with soft, dark centres, Hunger will take your hand and let it go at the worst possible moment!

So, take a look at the teaser movie for some up close & personal Hunger footage. We’re so excited about how this game is evolving and can’t wait to show you more!

We Happy Few is the tale of a plucky bunch of moderately terrible people trying to escape from a lifetime of cheerful denial. Set in a drug-fuelled, retrofuturistic city in an alternative 1960s England, you’ll have to blend in with its other inhabitants, who don’t take kindly to people who don’t abide by their not-so-normal rules.

We’re pretty excited by what we’re making, and we want to get you guys involved early, so that we can make the best game we can.

We’re kicking things off by showing what we have so far at PAX East in Boston, in booth #6216, 6-8 March 2015. If you’re making it to the show, please come check it out, as we’re going to be inviting a few people to join our pre-alpha community!

Curve Digital & Roll7’s OlliOlli to Offer Cross Buy Functionality Across Nintendo 3DS and Wii U

Curve Digital are delighted to announce that their versions of Roll7’s twitch arcade skater, OlliOlli, will utilize a newly available Buy One, Get One Free scheme across the Nintendo 3DS and Wii U systems in all regions globally at release on 5th March.

Curve Digital MD, Jason Perkins, commented: “Curve Digital are known for frequently offering titles on PlayStation’s Cross-Buy scheme, whereby gamers who purchase a Curve title on either PS4/PS3 or Vita will receive the other versions for no added cost. We are always keen to offer these gamer-friendly schemes where possible.”

Working closely with Nintendo, Curve is now able to offer a similar-such scheme on Nintendo 3DS and Wii U systems, where a purchase on either system will unlock the other system’s version, available to the same user absolutely free.

For the £7.99/$9.99/Eur 9.99 retail price, Nintendo gamers will be able to purchase OlliOlli on either system and receive both versions unlocked via their Nintendo ID, for the optimum experience whether at home or on the go.

OlliOlli will be available on the Nintendo 3DS and Wii U eShop on March 5th, followed by Xbox One on March 6th.

Curve’s adoption of such a scheme marks another step in the publisher’s ongoing ambitions to continually innovate and push the boundaries of indie console publishing.
