Record of Grancrest War game details War Command system, Fantasia Union characters
Bandai Namco has released new information and screenshots of its upcoming Record of Grancrest War game for PlayStation 4, introducing the game’s “War Command” system and “Fantasia Union” characters.
Get the details below.
■ About
Record of Grancrest War is the latest work from author Ryo Mizuno. It is a new war story of overwhelming presentation surrounding the domination of a continent, set 25 years after Record of Lodoss War. It was made into a television anime that began airing in January 2018, and now it is being made into a traditional strategy RPG.
On the continent of Atlatan, two major powers—the “Fantasia Union” and the “Factory Alliance”—stand against each other. Lords scramble for domination and Crests, and the continent has broken out into a period of wars. Theo, a wandering knight, hopes to gain control of the two powers and unify the continent.
For this update, we will introduce the key role of player choice, the development of the story as it is depicted in the game, the “War Command Mode” in which command your units, and the characters of the Fantasia Union.
■ The Record of Grancrest War Depicted in the Game
In the Record of Grancrest War game, the “historic disaster” that occurred in the original work will change according to the player’s actions. The story can follow the path of the anime and original work, as well as reach a previously unseen fate.
Lassic David is a brave young lord full of ambition. In order to steal Theo’s territory, he challenges Theo to war. Lassic’s fate depends not on him, but on the player’s choices and tactics.
In the original work and anime, Villar Constance died in the Artuk War. But he may live in the new history woven by the player. Head to the battlefield to spin a new history!
■ Command Your Units with “War Command Mode”
In War Command Mode, you can give commands to your units. The commands you give to your units, which carry out in real-time, will be the key to either victory or defeat. Players can give commands to a maximum of eight units to gain control of the battlefield.
—Give each unit a route to move forward.
—Each unit will start their march along the arrow marking.
—Command all of your units to dominate the battlefield.
War Command Mode also enables you to get a visualization of the battle situation. Visualizations include “enemy movement direction,” “affinity between your units and the enemy units,” and so on, and will allow anyone to play the game from the perspective of a tactician.
—A glowing frame below enemy units indicating status acts as an aid before issuing War Commands. If the red frame has a shattering appearance, then you can expect to deal a lot of damage.
determine the enemy unit affinity via the status of the unit frame displayed beneath the unit. If the enemy’s red affinity frame is broken, you can likely deal high damage.
—Dominate an ever-changing battlefield with “Unit Commands” and “Battle Situation Visualizations.”
Make up your own tactics with various commands based on the battle situaton, including sieges, pincer attacks, one-point breakthroughs, melees, and more.
Sub-Events: A Must-See for Fans
In the Record of Grancrest War game, you will be able to see various sides of Theo and company through sub-events. Experience the everyday lives of Theo and company not depicted in the original work through the game.
—Irvin has no word for “relaxation” in his personal dictionary. But even he seems to take a break once in a while…
