Full Metal Panic! Fight: Who Dares Wins details systems, Arm Slaves, and characters
Bandai Namco has released new information and screenshots of Full Metal Panic! Fight! Who Dares Wins introducing the game’s systems, Arm Slaves, and characters.
Get the details below.
■ Tactical Map
In Full Metal Panic! Fight! Who Dares Wins, heated battles between Arm Slaves will unfold during battle parts known as the “Tactical Map.” Each map will see the appearance of various battle fields that previously appeared in Full Metal Panic. Not only will battles unfold will battles unfold in the suburbs, there will also be battles on the outskirts of Jindai Municipal High School and in the arena of the Southeast Asian city of “Namusaku.”
—The outskirts of Jindai Municipal High School.
—The arena.
Arbalest runs across the wasteland. Full Metal Panic! Fight! Who Dares Wins is not turn-based, but uses an action order system. You can switch between weapons with a single touch while moving. (Of course, you can also re-select weapons before the battle.)
The screenshot below shows the gauge that indicates the action order. In this way, it is clear which Arm Slave will take action next. If Sousuke chooses “Wait,” then…
The action order will change to Mao. It should be noted that the action order is determined by parameters such as the “load” of the Arm Slave and the “Action Level” of the operator, in addition to the actions taken immediately before and so on.
■ The Body of an Arm Slave
An Arm Slave’s body consists of four parts—Body, Head, Arms, and Legs—and each part has its own HP. Certain conditions are required in order to target parts, such as specific skills or weapons.
Here is the breakdown of each part:
Head: As its HP falls, hit and evasion also falls.
Body: When its HP reaches zero, the Arm Slave will crash.
Arms: As its HP falls, attack power also falls.
Legs: When its HP reaches zero, movement power drops significantly, and it is no longer possible to climb elevated ground.
*Destruction of parts will not disable the use of certain weapons.
Laevatein’s single molecule cutter destroys M6 Bushnell’s arms, causing its attack power to fall.
Here we see Kurz’ Gernsback destroying Shadow’s head with a 57mm smoothbore gun. Since Shadow’s hit and evasion is lowered, you will have a big advantage when facing this enemy.
However, there danger does exist in the destruction of parts on the ally side. There is no way to recover a part once its HP reaches zero, so be sure not to forget to recover often.
■ Weapon Selection
A great number of weapons will appear in Full Metal Panic! Fight! Who Dares Wins. Weapons have various traits depending on their classification, such as being able to use parts-target attacks, or being able to make up for a low accuracy rate with number of hits.
Carried weapons can be freely selected before a mission, but in addition to the overall weight and load ratio affecting action order, if the overall weight exceeds the load, action order will be considerably delayed. Choosing the weapons that match your strategy is the key to winning the battle.
—Arbalest’s overall weight in the following screenshot is 275. Since the load is 800, there is still extra room to equip weapons.
—In order to handle various situations, the 35mm rifle is removed and several other weapons are selected in its place. Arbalest’s overall weight is now 735, but with the power to handle various situations, it is expected to have greater power to continue the battle.
■ Weapon Classifications
An introduction to some of the weapon types.
Rapid-Fire Weapons
Can be used after moving. Since they have a high amount of hits, their accuracy rate is low, but a hit among those several rounds can be expected.
—Rapid-Fire Weapon: Kratos 2-Cannon Machine Gun
Shotguns (Armor-Piercing Ammo)
Can be used after moving. They has high power, but since they only hit once, whether or not you deal damage to the part you are aiming at is a gamble.
—Shotgun (Armor-Piercing Ammo): Boxer 2 (Armor-Piercing Ammo)
Shotguns (Buckshots)
Can be used after moving. Although they can equally damage all parts in situations when they hit, even destroyed parts will be equally damaged. Also, since they only hit once, caution is necessary when accuracy rate is low.
—Shotgun (Buckshot): Boxer (Buckshot)
Handguns
—Handgun: 25mm Handgun
While their power and number of hits are not that great, they is ligher than other weapons, and there is little affect on the action order after their use.
Missiles
—Missile: Versile II
