Overwatch will add its 27th playable hero with new character Brigitte, Blizzard Entertainment announced.
Brigitte is available for testing now on the Public Test Region of the PC version of Overwatch.
Here’s an overview of Brigitte, via the Overwatch official website:
Biography
Real Name: Brigitte Lindholm
Age: 28
Occupation: Engineer, Adventurer
Base of Operations: Gothenburg, Sweden (formerly)
Affiliation: None
“I will prove myself!”
No longer sitting on the sidelines, Brigitte Lindholm has taken up arms to defend those in need of protection.
The youngest daughter of weapons designer, Torbjörn Lindholm, Brigitte was the first of his children to show an interest in mechanical engineering. Brigitte spent much of her spare time in her father’s workshop, learning the trade and honing her skills. Her aptitude for engineering mirrored that of her father’s, but Brigitte’s primary interest was in armor fabrication and defensive systems, unlike Torbjörn, who was world renowned (and perhaps infamous) for the weapons he created.
Everyone expected that Brigitte would continue her apprenticeship and follow in her father’s footsteps. But her plans changed due to influence of another prominent figure in her life, her father’s close friend and fellow Overwatch agent, Reinhardt Wilhelm. A close friend of the family and Brigitte’s godfather, Reinhardt told Brigitte tales of heroes and chivalry as she grew up. After his retirement and Overwatch’s fall, Reinhardt declared that he would become a knight-errant on a quest to bring justice. Before he left on his adventures, Brigitte surprised him by asking to join him as his squire. Reinhardt accepted.
As a squire, Brigitte had many responsibilities, the most important of which was the upkeep of Reinhardt’s Crusader armor (a design she was familiar with as the current version was designed by her father). But more and more, she found her main job was taking care of Reinhardt himself, trying to protect him from his overenthusiasm even as his body was breaking down from years of combat.
Eventually, she realized that serving only as a mechanic wasn’t enough, and that the best way she could aid Reinhardt was to become a warrior in her own right. While Reinhardt trained her in combat, Brigitte began to build her own suit of armor in secret.
Now Brigitte fights at Reinhardt’s side to protect him, and any others in need as knight and squire journey to make the world a better place, one battle at a time.
Overview
Role: Support
Difficulty: One Star
Brigitte specializes in armor. She can throw Repair Packs to heal teammates, or automatically heal nearby allies when she damages foes with her Flail. Her Flail is capable of a wide swing to strike multiple targets, or a Whip Shot that stuns an enemy at range. When entering the fray, Barrier Shield provides personal defense while she attacks enemies with Shield Bash. Brigitte’s ultimate ability, Rally, gives her a substantial short-term boost of speed and provides long-lasting armor to all her nearby allies.
Abilities
Rocket Fail: Brigitte’s melee weapon has an extended range, enabling her to strike multiple enemies with a single swing.
Repair Pack: Brigitte throws a Repair Pack that can heal an ally. Any healing over that ally’s maximum health provides them with armor instead.
Whip Shot: Brigitte throws her flail a long distance, dealing damage and knocking an enemy away from her.
Barrier Shield: Brigitte deploys a frontal energy barrier to absorb a limited amount of damage.
Shield Bash: Once her Barrier Shield is deployed, Brigitte can dash forward to stun an enemy.
Rally: Brigitte moves faster and provides all nearby allies with armor that lasts until it’s removed by damage.
Overwatch is available now for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
Sources: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Remastered has no MP, not developed by Raven
Rumors started swirling this past week about a possible Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Remastered that could be incoming in the near future. The first listing appeared on Amazon Italy earlier last week, with support channels following up with possible additional pre-order dates.
However, charlieINTEL has learned new information about Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Remastered from a source that sent us materials from a Raven Software employee indicating Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Remastered does not have a multiplayer mode; it is a campaign only remaster, according to the material charlieINTEL was sent. We believe this information to be accurate.
This information would actually line up with the Amazon Italy listing. The listing stated that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Remastered would cost around $25, which is a lot lower than what Activision charged for Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare Remastered in 2017, $40. That game featured both single player and MP. Having the price cut almost in half for the MW2 Remastered would support that the game is not the full game remastered.
In addition, the materials sent to CI stated that Raven Software is actually not developing Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Remastered. Although Raven did develop the Modern Warfare Remastered in 2016, it does not appear they are working on this title.
There are some rumors that Beenox, the team which helped Raven develop the campaign of Call of Duty 4’s remaster (and previously developed Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 for Xbox 360 and PS3 in 2015), could be working on Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Campaign Remastered, as the studio has been on a hiring spree for Call of Duty related projects. Numerous job listings on Beenox’s site states that the studio is “currently dedicated to the development of the Call of Duty franchise.
Activision has not announced any official details about Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Remastered.
Update: Eurogamer has posted their own article stating that their sources have also confirmed that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Remastered is real, and it does not have multiplayer included.

Overwatch Retribution introduces new PVE mission and new PVP map in Venice
Jeff Kaplan hopped on tonight’s Overwatch League stream with a trailer and details surrounding the next seasonal mission in Overwatch. The new mission, Overwatch Retribution, takes place in the Rialto district of Venice, Italy. In the new event, you’ll be playing as one of four Blackwatch agents: Reaper, McCree, Genji, or Moira. But instead of fighting mass waves of omnic forces, this time you’ll be battling Talon. This mission marks the start of Gabriel’s descent from Blackwatch hero to future Talon associate.
Retribution falls under the new Overwatch Archives umbrella. While players will still be able to participate in Uprising, Retribution is a new PVE mission mode. Just like Uprising, players can play in story mode with the intended heroes, or play in all heroes mode.
However, players do have some changes to look forward to. Blizzard learned quite a bit from last year’s Uprising event. To that end, they’ve made some adjustments for Retribution. In particular, there’s a lot more variance between story mode and all heroes mode. Players were slightly disappointed that choosing all heroes mode for Uprising resulted in…mostly the same map, with the same setup and the same enemies. Retribution is another story — expect a different experience in each mode this time around.
Retribution also brings a brand-new map to the table. What’s the use of having a map for one limited time event? Rialto will also be coming to the game as a PVP mode Payload-style map. While the Blackwatch mission takes place under the cover of night, Rialto’s PVP mode will take place during the day. The PVP map still needs testing, so expect it to hit the PTR after Retribution goes live.
Jeff also talked briefly about the differences between PVE and PVP mode. The developers like making PVE style events, because it gives players the story they’ve been asking for. In addition, it gives players an opportunity to play heroes they might not get to play in regular PVP matches. Retribution will launch with 60 new cosmetic items, including highlight intros, emotes, sprays, and more. Yes, Reaper fans, there’s a new Reyes skin making its debut this time around — but an unexpected one. We’ve got Blackwatch Reyes already…so in Retribution, we’ll be seeing a skin from an earlier period of Gabriel’s life. It’s going to be from his days as part of the super soldier program before Overwatch — as Soldier: 24.
We’ll have to wait and see what the rest of the new cosmetic rewards look like — but we won’t be waiting too long. Retribution launches next week, on April 10.
New Overwatch Map Rialto is Now Live In New Update On PC, PS4 and Xbox One
Rialto Map Overview
Rialto was home to Talon agent Antonio Bartalotti’s sprawling estate and the backdrop to the infamous “Venice Incident,” a turning point for Overwatch and Talon. The Italian government has taken great steps to preserve Venice, and the results are striking. Tourists visiting this picturesque town can sample the regional cuisine, enjoy a relaxing gondola ride, visit Galleria D’arte Omnica (the local art gallery), or simply take in the sights with a stroll along the canal.
