When we revealed Xbox One to the world in May, we introduced Smart Match. We then unveiled more details on our next generation matchmaking system at E3, and since then we’ve heard you would like to hear more about it. Here are the top three things gamers should know about the Xbox One revolutionary matchmaking system called Smart Match.

Smart Match Finds the Perfect Players for the Perfect game

Smart Match on Xbox One is completely reengineered for a new generation of gaming – using advanced algorithms to pair players based on skill, language, and now reputation. It’s smarter, faster and optimized to help you play with exactly the people you want, when you want. The advanced party system goes far beyond the beacons of Xbox 360, which was limited to people you already knew. Helping you discover and connect easily with players is now central to the experience. In addition, for the first time, games will be able to share player stats with Xbox Live and each other; to learn, evolve, and provide you with the best possible matchmaking available.

The results? Titles have the ability to match you with other players based on reputation - which we will be talking more about in a post tomorrow, skill, language, age, and even your specific gameplay style. You won’t find yourself in way over your head but you’ll always have a good challenge.

Smart Match Frees Up Your Time

With Smart Match, you can do whatever you want while Xbox One finds your perfect match. This means that less popular multiplayer modes and maps that have traditionally taken a long time to find players suddenly become playable. Because Snap mode is a core feature of Xbox One that lets you do two things at once, you no longer have to wait in lobbies while Xbox Live is matchmaking for you. One friend can even set up matches for your whole party.

While Xbox Live is matchmaking, you’re untethered and free to do what you want, like watch TV or check out your favorite website or apps while waiting for your next game. If you’re playing digital games, you can even play one game while Smart Match prepares a second. This freedom to break out of waiting in lobbies and do whatever you want is what separates Xbox One from systems that don’t have a way to instantly switch between tasks.

Smart Match Lets You Know When Your Game is Ready

After you or a party member inputs the criteria for your perfect game, do something more fun than waiting; it’s up to you. Play another game, find some new downloadable content, or jump on Reddit. Take yourself as many touch points away from the matchmaking process as you can and you still don’t need to worry about finding your way back. Once Xbox One is done finding your perfect match, it will prompt you with a simple toast - no matter where you are or what you’re doing - so you can jump straight into playing.

微软考虑将XBOXONE新耳麦与主机同捆附赠

  XBOX设计师Albert Penello日前在twitter上回应了网友呼吁让XBOXONE的耳麦和主机捆绑销售。

  Albert Penello说已经看到了广大玩家的呼吁,正在持续的关注中,让广大玩家敬请期待就好了。

  之前微软已经放出了耳麦的预购,售价为25美元。XBOXONE将于今年11月发售。

XboxLive经理详解XBOX ONE的全新声誉系统

  XboxLive项目经理迈克尔邓恩近日在详细解释了XBOX ONE的全新声誉系统。

  每一个用户都会根据游戏的习惯和游戏的记录来进行分析,一个全新的复杂算法和系统来保证每一个玩家都能公平的被评级。

  用户的声誉决定用户属于哪个分类,绿色分类都是非常友好的玩家,黄色分类的都是还不错的玩家,红色分类的玩家就是比较麻烦的一类。如果一个玩家属于后两类的话他将会得到提示信息。

  同时系统还保证不会因为几个举报就减低声誉,会有一整套复杂的评估系统算法来保证这一点。

微软说XBOX ONE不断电可持续运行10年之久

  消息还透露,Xbox One甚至可以在一直供电的情况下,持续运行10年时间。如果进入待机模式,那么设备将不会发出任何的噪音。据推测,Xbox One的尺寸规格很有可能是34x26x8cm。

  另外,该消息源还称,目前Xbox One的软件开发工作基本要进入尾声。微软希望能够缩短One中的游戏加载时间。

  而在即将到来的德国Gamescom上,微软将会为人们带来Xbox One,并展示其如何从待机模式立即进入运行状态的过程。而在该展会之前,也就是8月20日,微软将会举行一场新闻发布会。

泄露代码显示Xbox One或可运行Win RT应用

  此前有许多报道和小道消息称微软将允许Xbox One上运行Windows RT应用。今天superdae泄露的代码也差不多证实了上述消息。上面的图片展示了Xbox One版《国土防线2》偶然泄露的源代码文件列表。正如你所看到的,里面有 AppxManifest.xml这样的文件,暗示了这是一款Windows RT应用。Windows商店中的Windows 8应用也有类似的文件。而DurangoConfig.xml 和 DurangoLauncher.exe这两个文件可能是Xbox One用来运行这些新应用的相关文件。



  微软目前就Xbox One上第三方应用和游戏开发的详细内容还保持着沉默,但上周已经证实Xbox One将支持个人开发内容的发布。

  如果微软最终在Xbox One上开放Windows RT应用,相信开发者们一定会非常热衷,而现在被认为鸡肋的RT系统也将焕发新的色彩。也许很快就会看到Windows 8、Xbox One和windows phone上会运行相同代码的应用了。

  微软Xbox程序总监尼尔森上校(Larry Hryb)今日在其博客中公布了新Xbox Live的所有优点原文如下:



       今天,我们公布了Xbox360名为“联合行动”的新测试程序,Xbox Live的所有会员可以这个程序帮助Xbox Live成为一个更加趣味,公平,安全的游戏平台。Xbox Live是一个绝佳的线上游戏平台,现在每一个会员都可为Xbox Live的前进做出努力。与此同时,今天我们也揭开了社区之家(Community Level)的面纱,在这个网站里,Xbox Live的会员可以赚取奖励获得加入“联合行动”团队的机会以及申请成为Xbox Live大使。

  让Xbox Live找到组织,加入社区之家是对玩家来说是个好事儿,不过,别急,这可不是唯一的亮点。Xbox One还有几个核心亮点,每一个亮点都让线上游戏的体验更为完美。



  更稳定

  智能匹配

  之前,我与Xbox Live的程序经理Micaheal Dunn会面,我们谈论了关于Xbox One的玩家匹配系统,这个系统叫做:智能匹配。这项新服务最大的关键就是玩家不用再长时间坐等其他玩家的加入。通过智能匹配,玩家只需输入匹配请求,玩家就可以去安心看电视,电影了,一旦找到合适玩家,系统将在屏幕有提示,玩家便可回到游戏进行线上对战。

  声望值让游戏环境更好

  联合执行的程序将补充智能匹配的声誉系统,我们已经更新了我们对于玩家行为的监测方法,扩充了多分元素,加入了声望值。新的声望值系统是基于玩家平时玩游戏过程中的表现而设立的,一些不文明的游戏行为都会让玩家的声望值降低。比如,有些玩家搅局,骚扰,飙脏话都会被扣分。新系统的目的很简单就是为广大玩家提供一个干净,安全,顺畅,不被不文明者和垃圾邮件霸占的平台。相信玩家会喜欢这一点的。



  新成就系统

  新的成就系统为玩家的游戏体验提升到了一个层次,这个提升就是因为挑战与奖励机制的应用。Xbox One的成就系统继承了以往的优点,并前所未有地加入了挑战,玩家可以参加Xbox Live定期发起的挑战,完成挑战者还会有机会获得奖品。另外,Xbox 360上的所有积分与成就将会被自动同步到Xbox One。

  游戏的录像与上传

Why I’m Excited about Online Gaming with Xbox One

This morning, we announced a new beta program for Xbox 360 called Enforcement United, that lets Xbox Live members like you get involved to help make Xbox Live a more fun, fair and safer place for everyone to play. Xbox Live is the best online gaming experience and now we’re enabling every member to help us make it even better. We also unveiled Xbox Community Level, a website where Xbox Live members can earn rewards and recognition for participating in the Enforcement United beta and the long-standing Xbox Live Ambassadors program.

It’s a great way for Xbox Live members to engage with their community, but it’s not the only element we’re bringing to the table. Here are a few core features for Xbox One, developed specifically with the Xbox Live community in mind, that make online gaming better:

Xbox Live Multiplayer on Xbox One

You’ve told us that Xbox Live is the best service for online multiplayer gaming, and we’re continuing that tradition on Xbox One, where we’ve made the multiplayer experience the way we all want it: smart, quick and intuitive. What makes Xbox Live revolutionary on Xbox One? It’s the power. We’re investing in more than 300,000 servers to supercharge Xbox Live. With a wealth of new features and the stable service you need, Xbox Live on Xbox One offers you THE multiplayer experience to game with all of your friends.

Better Matchmaking

Earlier this summer, I talked with Micheal Dunn, Program Manager on Xbox Live Services, about the new Xbox One matchmaking system called Smart Match. The key here is that you no longer have to sit and wait for a game to match you with other players. With Smart Match on Xbox One, I can put in my match request, then switch over and catch up on the posts on Xbox One or watch TV or a movie. When a match is found, Xbox One tells me so I can re-enter the game instantly. Smart Match also matches you with players like yourself, making your multiplayer gaming even more tailored to your game style.

Enhanced Reputation and Enforcement

The Enforcement United program will complement Smart Match’s new reputation system on Xbox One. We’ve updated our proprietary algorithms for monitoring gaming behavior on Xbox Live, expanded scoring elements, engaged our enforcement team and created requirements for games to take reputation into account. The new reputation system is built on a model that accounts for how you behave and whether you positively or negatively affect others. As long as other players or the games you play are not negatively reporting you or your actions, you’ll maintain a positive reputation. Ways to weaken your reputation, for example, would be to join a competitive, veteran area and try to disrupt games, or join a casual play area and be a griefer. We’ve also worked hard to ensure this new system can’t be manipulated by groups of griefers. Our goal is to create a safe and fun place for gamers without BS from trolls and spammers. Casual gamers might not even notice that this new reputation system is in place, but trust me, serious online gamers will be glad it is.

New Achievements System

Achievements have always added that extra layer of accomplishment, challenge and reward for Xbox Live members, and we’re excited to continue that tradition on Xbox One. We’ve introduced a new kind of Achievement called a Challenge, where players and friends can work to accomplish time-based objectives resulting in winning cool free stuff. Developers can also now continue to grow and expand their achievements over time, so you have more opportunities to build up your score without being limited to the achievements on the disk. Don’t forget, your Gamerscore will also carry over from Xbox 360.

Game DVR, Upload

With Game DVR and Upload Studio, you can create and add epic video clips to share with your Xbox Live friends. With Xbox Live on Xbox One, you now have new ways to record, edit, share and broadcast the best moments from your games. Game DVR lets you record your favorite highlights. You can then use Upload Studio to customize and show off your big victories, including adding your own voiceovers by using Kinect. You’ll have a number of custom skins to choose from to make your clip stand out even more and you’ll have slow motion and other editing tools. It’s your own editing bay for the documentary of your gaming life.

These are just a FEW of the thing that make gaming great on Xbox One. There are lots more to come, so be sure to stay tuned for more exciting details as we march towards the launch of Xbox One.

微软确认旧主机耳机可用在新机上但是需要转换

  微软一直对 Xbox 360 聊天用的有线耳麦是否可以用在 Xbox One 不予清晰说明。日前项目经理 Alberto Penello 在鸟博上证实可以通过一个转接头将 Xbox 360 耳麦用在 Xbox One,不过这个转接头是单独的配件,需要另购,样式和价格未知。

XboxOne进入内测阶段 幸运微软员工将带回家测试

  经过好几年的研发和相关测试之后今天有消息称微软已经开始Xbox One的内部beta测试,这就意味着微软员工能够将便携式主机带回家里并进行相关的测试,如果测试没有什么问题,那么这些就是最终的零售版本。测试项目 主要包括玩游戏、看TV等各种Xbox One功能。此外今天还有好消息就是微软宣布将Xbox One其中GPU规格从之前的800MHZ升级到853MHZ,伴随着GPU提升之外微软还研发了新的显卡驱动,能够100%发挥Xbox One的性能。

  这些幸运的微软员工将会把Xbox One带回家并进行相关的测试,如果发现问题将会即使报告给Xbox开发团队,产品计划在今年11月份正式推出。最近的新闻透露微软已经完成了Xbox OS的开发工作,这就为意味着目前的内部测试将测试重心放在了预安装的相关应用其他测试方面。

微软表示XboxOne GPU频率从800MHz提升至853MHz

  关于微软次世代游戏主机Xbox One的硬件又有了些新信息。



  Xbox Live程序总监Larry Hryb(也就是Major Nelson)将会同Marc Whitten发布播客讲解Xbox One GPU的部分改进。

  Xbox One采用了AMD专门定制的GPU芯片,基本上与Radeon 7790接近(根据Digital Foundry提供的信息。)根据最近日本GameSpot的报道(该信息已经被取消,但是通过Google缓存还可以看到)微软提高了该GPU芯片53MHz的频率,该调整应该是在E3之后。另外,开发团队还会重新设计图像驱动来优化相应性能。

  关于Xbox One硬件的内部Beta测试正在进行中,相关的操作系统也随之进行了调整和改进。

Xbox One GPU speed has been increased since E3, says Microsoft

Microsoft corporate vice president Marc Whitten has spoken about some of the changes and additions Microsoft is making to the current Xbox One development kits, including an increase to the GPU's clock speed and a new graphics driver.

Speaking on the podcast of Microsoft spokesperson Larry "Major Nelson" Hryb, Whitten said "this is the time, and this is the thing I think people are going to see as we get into Gamescom and people get their first look at new things since E3. This is the time where developers have the final dev kits in their hands, they're really working closely with us on how things have come together. There's some things that have really started to come together quite well."

Whitten also said that Microsoft's internal beta for the Xbox One was currently running, and that the hardware manufacturer was releasing daily builds for the console's operating system.

New additions to the Xbox One hardware since it was last shown at E3 include a new graphics driver and an increase to the GPU's clock speed, says Whitten.

"Since E3, an example is that we've dropped in what we internally call our mono driver. It's our graphics driver that really is 100 percent optimised for the Xbox One hardware. You start with the base DirectX driver, and then you take out all parts that don't look like Xbox One and you add in everything that really optimises that experience. Almost all of our content partners have really picked it up now, and I think it's made a really nice improvement."

"This is the time where we've gone from the theory of how the hardware works - what do we think the yield is going to look like, what is the thermal envelope, how do things come together - to really having them in our hands. That's the time where you start tweaking the knobs. Either your theory was right dead on, or you were a little too conservative, or you were a little too aggressive. It's actually been really good news for us, and an example of that is we've tweaked up the clock speed on our GPU from 800mhz to 853mhz."

微软证实XBOX ONE的视频录制只支持720P

  微软的马克·惠顿近日证实XBOXONE的视屏录制仅支持720p分辨率30帧每秒。当运行《极限竞速5》时游戏会以1080p的分辨率60帧每秒的速度运行。同时录制的视频会是720p30帧每秒。同时还证实了XBOXONE支持4K分辨率的输出。(猜测估计是支持4K的视频播放)

微软详解为什么给XBOX ONE的GPU频率限制解封

  微软刚刚确认让XBOXONE的GPU的频率从800MHz提升到853MHz,性能方面提升了6%。微软工作人员透露了微软为什么会作此决定。

  Albert Penello透露道:“微软正在全力以赴将XBOX ONE打造成高性能,高质量,可靠性高,噪音小的主机。”

  “坚如磐石的稳定性也是主要目标之一。”

  “我们想让新主机拥有更好的静音效果,XBOXONE将会比新发布的XBOX360更加静音。之前没有提升频率是因为我们无法解决噪音问题。现在我们找到解决方法了,就释放了XBOXONE原本的性能。”

  根据一些计算,这次XBOX ONE GPU性能提升到了1.31tf。

  随着GPU主频的提高,微软也编写了一个新的驱动程序“MONO”这款驱动允许开发者进行深度编译。

XBOX ONE不采用HDCP协议内容可保存到本地

  终于有一个关于Xbox One的好消息了:Xbox One将不会在游戏中使用HDCP( High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection)协议。从Xbox One发售伊始,似乎关于它的消息就没有一条是正面的,但这种尴尬的情况在最近一阵子得到了缓解,比如DRM的移除,比如新独有游戏的开发与宣布,比如关 于耳机兼容性方案的声明,以及昨天刚刚得到确认的消息:和Xbox 360一样,Xbox One将不会采用HDCP协议。


 
  HDCP协议是一项数字版权保护协议,旨在保护如Xbox One这样的媒体设备,不会将媒体内容投射到电视或显示器这类的播放设备上。如果使用这项协议,也就意味着玩家和用户不允许通过Xbox One将一段影像视频拷贝到他的PC或大屏幕设备上并播放,否则即是违法行为。而根据最新的微软社会市场经理Graeme Boyd转发的Xbox Live运营经理Eric Neustadter的一条twitter来看,Xbox One的保护协议将于之前的Xbox 360相同。这表示用户可以通过如Elgato的GameCapture HD设备将游戏内容保存到本地。不过值得注意的是,这也只限于游戏内容,对于电影和视频信息流来说,HDCP协议仍然有效。

  玩家和游戏测评人员将一如既往的可以通过微软下一代系统保存录制的视频。和Xbox One类似,在索尼的最新主机PS4中,系统内也同样添加了录制选项。
