Peter Moore 早期参与过竞技游戏节目,例如 FIFA Interactive 世界杯、EA sports 挑战联赛等,再加上 Peter 个人对游戏体验、运动和竞技的热情,因此 EA 认为他是带领新部门最合适的人选。

Today I am excited to announce that Peter Moore is moving into a new role as Executive Vice President and Chief Competition Officer for Electronic Arts, leading our new EA Competitive Gaming Division (CGD). As the latest step in our journey to put our players first, this group will enable global eSports competitions in our biggest franchises including FIFA, Madden NFL, Battlefield and more. The CGD will be built around three core pillars:
• Competition – To create highly-engaging competitive experiences with our games, officially supported by Electronic Arts.
• Community – To celebrate, connect and grow our community of players across all levels of expertise.
• Entertainment – To develop live events and broadcasting that bring the spectacle of competition to millions of people around the world.
There is no one better in our industry to lead this new effort than Peter. He was an early pioneer in championing competitive gaming programs, such as the FIFA Interactive World Cup and the EA SPORTS Challenge Series, and Peter’s personal passions for the player experience, sports and competition, make him a tremendous leader for this new division. Peter’s team will partner with our development studios, marketers and publishing teams to bring this new platform to life.
We’re also delighted to have Todd Sitrin joining Peter in the role of Senior Vice President and GM of the CGD. Todd is an EA veteran, whose distinguished 14-year career here has included leading our global marketing teams as well as driving marketing and strategy for EA SPORTS. Todd will lead strategy and operations for the CGD, working closely with our development studios to create an exciting competitive platform in our games.
As Peter and Todd begin these critical roles, we are focused on both delivering our commitments for FY16 as well as putting great energy behind this new opportunity. Peter will continue to lead his current organization through the end of FY16 before shifting full time to his new position. We will share further details about the CGD in the coming months.
Competition runs deep in the DNA of Electronic Arts, and our games are already at the center of competitive gaming events at different levels today. FIFA fans around the world continue to compete in the FIFA Interactive World Cup, ESL One is hosting worldwide championships with Battlefield 4, we recently announced the return of the Madden NFL Live Challenge, and our games will be played in dozens of other regional competitions around the world in the next year. EA’s CGD will seek to build a best-in-class program to centralize our efforts with new events, as well as the infrastructure to bring you the world’s preeminent EA competitive experiences.

Make way for Yarny! Coldwood Interactive and Electronic Arts today announced Unravel will be available worldwide on Feb. 9, 2016 via digital download on Origin for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. The Unravel trailer released today features new gameplay of Yarny—the tiny, new character made from a single thread of yarn—embarking on an adventure to reconnect the bonds of love.

Unravel is a game all about overcoming obstacles, both big and small. Finish the Fight With EA Sports UFC 2 Starting March 15
Electronic Arts Inc. (NASDAQ:EA) today announced EA Sports UFC 2 launches on March 15, 2016 in North America, and March 17, 2016 worldwide. In addition to the announcement, EA released a cinematic trailer for EA Sports UFC 2 featuring some of the biggest moments from recent bouts, showcasing authentic gameplay features, and highlighting new character visuals and signature animations. The trailer opens on EA Sports UFC 2 cover athlete and UFC featherweight champion, Conor McGregor showing fans the all-new Knockout Physics System in his championship fight at UFC 194. From there, fans will see Dynamic Grappling, and Next-Level Submissions while reliving some of the heart-stopping moments from recent fights, and speculating what could happen in upcoming contests.

Plants vs Zombies: Garden Warfare 2 Multiplayer Beta Starts January 14
Today, PopCap Vancouver, creator of one of the world’s beloved video game franchises and a studio of Electronic Arts, announced Plants vs. Zombies Garden Warfare 2 will host a public access multiplayer beta beginning January 14, and ending January 18. The multiplayer beta will be available for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, and will be a chance for players to experience the craziest shooter of 2016 before Plants vs. Zombies Garden Warfare 2 hits stores February 25 in the United Kingdom.
“More than 8 million players have experienced the original Plants vs. Zombies Garden Warfare since it launched in 2014,” said Justin Wiebe, Creative Director, Plants vs. Zombies Garden Warfare 2. “That level of engagement is incredible, and that’s why we’re so excited for players to jump into the next PvZ adventure with the Plants vs. Zombies Garden Warfare 2 multiplayer beta. Downloading the multiplayer beta will get you:
• Limited access to Backyard Battleground, an all-new dynamic environment that connects you to every map and mode, and brings to life more ways to experience the Plants vs. Zombies universe. As soon as the game starts, players will be immersed in a wild playground full of dynamic events. Take your time exploring, or jump into the action right away with the King of the Hill-inspired mode, Flag of Power.
