Etrian Odyssey X Announced for 3DS as a Series Crossover Title on August 2 in Japan

Atlus announced the latest installment of the Etrian Odyssey series with Etrian Odyssey X [Cross] featuring 19 classes including the new Hero class and more for Nintendo 3DS.

The game is called a “complete crossover of the entire series” as the very last brand-new title that will be on the 3DS. It takes place in a new land called Remlia, where adventurers from around the world gather on the flying city known as “Magnia.”

There are a total of 19 classes from across the series, including the brand new “Hero” class which we’ll get more information on later.





There are tons of labyrinths in the new setting of Remlia. Etrian Odyssey X boasts more volume than any title before.

The game systems are also crossover from past titles with features including character creation, subclasses, Force Boost/Force Break, and difficulty settings.

First-print copies come with the “New Adventurer Illustration Packs” which comes with five different class illustrations from a variety of artists.

Etrian Odyssey X releases in Japan on August 2, 2018 for Nintendo 3DS.

　　Atlus于昨日发表的3DS新作《世界树迷宫X》在本周Fami通杂志中刊载了制作人访谈的内容。下面就总结访谈的要点部分：

·《世界树迷宫V》是以“挑战新事物”为方向的集大成制作。但有很多粉丝在期待将系列以往优秀的地方汇集到一起的作品，所以我们考虑制作另一个集大成之作《世界树迷宫X》。

·X的舞台为“雷姆利亚”，是一个与其它大陆相隔绝的地方，在其中心的世界树周围会有历代冒险者都很熟悉的树海地区。

·不过迷宫方面会有一些地方与过去经验过的完全不一样，按照以往的知识反而会招致不幸。也会有一些让系列老玩家会心一笑的要素。

·这次会加入以前就很想加入的世界地图。在地图上会有各种各样的迷宫，满足条件后就可以开放新的场所，也会发生各种剧情事件。包含一些非主线的迷宫在内，游戏将提供系列最多的丰富内容。

·新职业英雄是一个万能类型的职业，拥有一些其他职业都没有的新特征，是个充满主角特性的职业。兼具攻击与防御，甚至还能奶。

·为了能够更加突出主职业的优点，在“力量强化”和“力量爆发”系统上也会加入一些新东西。

·《世界树迷宫X》将于8月2日正式发售，目前开发进度已经达到80%。该作将是3DS上最后一部《世界树迷宫》作品，请玩家们期待。



The latest issue of Weekly Famitsu has the first interview with Etrian Odyssey X director Shigeo Komori, who shares further details about the newly announced 3DS title.

Get the tidbits below.

• Etrian Odyssey V was positioned as a culmination title created under the direction of “challenging new things.” On the other hand, however, Komori felt that there were many fans who expected a direction that compiled the best parts of previous entries in the series. So, they decided to make Etrian Odyssey X as another culmination title.
• Lemuria, the setting of Etrian Odyssey X, is a land isolated from other continents. A sea of trees familiar to adventurers of previous Etrian Odyssey games is spread out around the Yggdrasil Tree at its center.
• However, caution is necessary as knowledge of previous dungeons may backfire. Elements that will put a grin on the faces of experienced Etrian Odyssey players are also being prepared.
• Etrian Odyssey X implements a world map, which Komori has wanted to do since previous Etrian Odyssey games. It is dotted with various labyrinths, and meeting specific requirements will unlock new places and cause events to occur.
• The game has the largest volume of the series yet, including labyrinths that are not required to clear the game.
• While having a newness not buried within existing classes, the new “Hero” class was set to be a class full of protagonistic sense. It is an all-purpose type that can easily handle attacks, defense, and even recovery.
• Force Boost and Force Break systems are being introduced to better bring out the strong points of the main class.

Gather in the floating city Maginia, and aim for the treasure on the remote island of Lemuria in the distant sea.”

Under the decree of Princess Persephone, adventurers seeking unknown treasure and honor gather in the floating city Maginia from nations all over the world.





◆ What is the legendary treasure left behind by the ancient civilization Lemuria?

Lemuria is an island said to be covered in thick clouds, and whose outskirts are always stormy. It was a long and difficult journey, but the adventurers that gathered on the floating city Maginia weathered the storm and landed on Lemuria. Their place of destination: the giant world tree, Yggdrasil. At the foot of this tree is supposed to be a legendary treasure left behind by the ancient civilization Lemuria. The fortune and honor sought by adventurers, and possibly unknown adventure lies dormant in Lemuria. Adventurers, Keep your pride in your heart, and move forward.

There are 19 classes in Etrian Odyssey X, including the new “Hero” class. The adventurers of the series up until now have all gathered in order to procure the treasure of Lemuria. This is the only game where you can mix and match the series’ popular classes to create a dream party that previously could not be put together. ◆ Challenge the many labryinths that await in Lemuria using the courage and experience built up over the course of the series as your weapon!

In Etrian Odyssey X, the series’ largest volume of labyrinths await you. Draw maps to your heart’s content! And of course, since there is also auto-mapping, you can also make maps without drawing anything yourself.





—In Etrian Odyssey X, you will move on the “World Map.” Events occur in various locations, and smaller labyrinths besides the main labyrinths are also being prepared.





Labyrinth No. 1: Shrine of the Eastern Grounds



A mysterious ruins located north from the base city Maginia. This is the first labyrinth, known as the “Shrine of the Eastern Grounds.” There is no sign of human life here, and it is overgrown with various vegetation.

An unknown ruins on an unknown continent, what will happen here is truly unclear. You must take on this labyrinth with utmost caution.



Many previously explored expanses will block the player’s path forward.

As you proceed exploring, you will arrive at many previously explored expanses. While their atmosphere may be the same, their map and structure seem to be completely different. Why do such labyrinths exist on Lemuria? Will you adventurers be able to get to the bottom of that mystery…?

◆ A crossover of the series’ best systems!

The systems of Etrian Odyssey X are a crossover of the systems from each entry in the series. This includes the “Force Burst” and “Force Break” systems from Etrian Odyssey Untold 2, the “Sub-Class” system from Etrian Odyssey III and Etrian Odyssey IV, the significantly increased level of character creation and difficulty options from Etrian Odyssey V, and more.

■ The Town Where the Adventurers are Based

◆ Maginia, the floating city and base of your adventure.



In Etrian Odyssey X, the base of your adventure is Maginia, a floating city inhabited by many people. At its center is a plaza where facilities such as the Adventurer’s Guild and inn are located.

Maginia is where adventurers will make preparations before heading out to explore the dangerous labyrinths. And more than 20 NPC characters will appear in Etrian Odyssey X, as well.

NPCs have deep knowledge of Yggdrasil and the treasure of Lemuria. What will your various encounters with them bring about…?



Lady of the Lake Cottage

Vivian is a girl who lives a self-indulgent life with her cat Merlin. She works as the inn receptionist under the orders of her parents, and is basically lazy and always says unmotivated things. In addition to resting and saving, the Lady of the Lake Cottage is a handy facility that can also hold onto your luggage.

Napier’s Firm

Napier is a businesswoman from the seaside city Armoroad.

She set off to the floating city Magnia with the catchphrase in mind, “If you find yourself in the vast unknown, you’re bound to find hidden treasure.”

She seems to do business even in Maginia. The Napier Firm is an important facility that not only sells weapons, armor, and items, it also does blacksmithing.

Kvasir’s Bar

Kvasir runs a bar in the floating city Maginia. He stays composed when he is silent, but has a haphazard way of speaking which tends to confuse those around him.

The bar receives various requests (quests) and information gathered from adventurers, so be sure to make use of it.

Adventurer’s Guild

Muller is a soldier of the floating city Maginia, and the man in charge of the guild that oversees the adventurers of this expedition.

He is always composed, but shows a soldier-like intensity in times of emergency. At the Adventurer’s Guild, players can do things such as register adventurers and form a party.

Persephone is the princess of the floating city Maginia. Inviting adventurers from nations all over the world, she lands in Lemuria in search of treasure.

　　ATLUS 28 日公开了预定 8 月 2 日发售的 N3DS 专用游戏 RPG《世界树的迷宫 X》的最新情报。

　　本篇报导将介绍全新冒险舞台． 远海孤岛「雷姆利亚」相关消息。 本作为系列作首次采用世界地图，除了会标示可攻略的主要迷宫，像是采集地区、可先攻略的「小型迷宫」也都会标示出来。

　　而且在世界地图上，也会偶遇事件或是强敌（F.O.E）。 这些强敌大多会出现在采集地区，采集地区如果被他们弄乱了，就会有一段时间无法进行采集。

　　另外，本篇报导还会公开小型迷宫「前人未踏的水源地」与「掩埋的古城遗迹」、在迷宫里可同行的 NPC，以及公会卡片等新情报。

《世界树的迷宫 X》将首次在系列作中，使用世界地图。

在世界地图上，不仅会显示迷宫或采集地区，还会发生事件，或是遇到 F.O.E！ 当然除了主要迷宫，地图上也会标示「小型迷宫」，欢迎想牛刀小试的玩家前来挑战看看。





攻略完成的迷宫旁边会出现采集地区，可以从那获得素材道具。 由于是在迷宫外面，虽然采集技能不会有反应，但至少可以安全采集。







不过，世界地图上的 F.O.E 大多会出现在采集地区。 如果对自己的实力有自信，不妨可以挑战看看。 世界地图上的 F.O.E 有着前往别处采集地区的习性，如果牠移动的路径会经过可以进行采集的采集地区，采集地区就会因此受到捣乱，有段时间无法进行采集。

介绍小型迷宫

接下来将介绍出现在《世界树的迷宫 X》的其中两座小型迷宫。

前人未踏的水源地（未踏の水源地）
根据席莉卡的消息造访小型迷宫「前人未踏的水源地」。 据说里面栖息着一种「可自由变换颜色的奇怪魔物」，难道会是...？









掩埋的古城遗迹（埋もれた城迹）
和马可、奥利巴一同造访的小型迷宫「掩埋的古城遗迹」。 是个 F.O.E「雷电丘（ライデンジュウ）」会大量涌出的难关。 究竟在这迷宫深处，藏有什么东西呢？









若有 NPC 跟随...

《世界树的迷宫 X》在推进主线故事时，会发生 NPC 跟随的情形。 这些同行的 NPC 似乎会给予各式各样的帮助。





冒险初期遇到的比尔姬妲。 身为新手医务兵，会在战斗结束时回复全体队伍血量
