I sent both my daughter (5 years old) and son (2 years old) to Dmonte since they were 2 months old.
The child minders are very caring and they have a structured approach in handling the kids. Kids younger
than 18 months have naps twice a day and the child minders will inform the parents if there are any
hiccups in the kids systems such as refusal to eat/drink milk/nap. At between 18 months - 20 months,
the kids are accessed if they are ready to join the playgroup. As my son was of smaller size and hence
not so steady, I requested to have him join the playgroup only at 20 months. During the transition, he
had many crying episodes as he wanted the child minders to be with him. However, Teacher Margaret
help him with this transition and by the end of the 2nd week, he was looking forward to going to the
kindy again. I would like to thank Teacher Margaret, Teacher Myrna, Teacher Grace and all the child
minders (Aunty Foong, Aunty Lee, Aunty Geok, etc) for being so patient with him during this transition.
Teacher Myrna has been the ‘godmother at school’ to both my kids as they like her very much =)
eing so patient with him during this transition.
Teacher Margaret has also been very helpful throughout both my kids' stay under her care. She has also
helped with the daily monitoring and recording of food intake for my son as per doctor’s advice (due to
weight being in the lower percentile). I can see that my son starts learning once he started playgroup as
he can associate songs with corresponding actions. Under Teacher Margaret's supervision,
any concern I have are promptly responded to and followed up.
