Square Enix and Deck Nine Games announced Life is Strange: Before the Storm for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC during the Microsoft E3 2017 press conference. The first episode in the three-part series will launch on August 31.

The company also confirmed that this is one of two Life is Strange projects, the other being a sequel in development at original developer Dontnod Entertainment.

Creation Club announced for Fallout 4 and The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Special Edition

Bethesda Softworks announced “Creation Club,” a collection of all-new content for both Fallout 4 and The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Special Edition, during its E3 2017 press conference. It will launch this summer for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.

Creation Club will feature new items, abilities, and gameplay created by Bethesda Games Studios and outside development partners including the best community creators. Its content is fully curated and compatible with the main game and official add-ons.

The Chosen are on the hunt for the Commander and will kidnap, interrogate, and kill XCOM’s soldiers to complete their objective. The Chosen can also invade the strategy layer and ravage XCOM’s global operations. Find and raid the Chosen’s strongholds to defeat the enemy for good.

New Alien and Advent Threats

A deadly new alien known as the Spectre, capable of creating dark copies of XCOM soldiers, has snuck onto the battlefield. Adopt new tactics to counter it as well as the explosive attacks of the ADVENT Purifier and the psionically charged ADVENT Priest.

New Environment and Mission Objectives

Engage in tactical missions across new environments from abandoned cities devastated by alien bioweapons during the original invasion, to underground tunnels and xenoformed wilderness regions.

Enhanced Strategy Layer

Manage XCOM’s relations with factions and counter The Chosen’s operations from the Avenger. Employ new Resistance Orders to prioritize your personal strategy. Soldiers, scientists, and engineers can now be deployed for Covert Actions that award supplies and boost faction favor if successfully completed.

Greater Customization and Replayability

Soldiers can develop bonds with compatible teammates for new abilities and perks. The SITREP system dynamically adds new modifiers to the tactical layer to make sure every mission provides a unique challenge. Advanced campaign options allow for finer adjustments to game length and difficulty.

Challenge Mode

Utilize the perfect strategy in new regular one-shot community challenges to claim the top spot on the global leaderboard.

   

Klei Entertainment announces Griftlands for PC

Klei Entertainment, developer of Invisible Inc. and Don’t Starve, among other titles, announced Griftlands, an RPG where “everything is negotiable,” during the PC Gaming Show at E3 2017.

LawBreakers launches August 8



LawBreakers will launch digitally for PlayStation 4 and PC on August 8 for $29.99, developer Boss Key Productions announced at the PC Gaming Show at E3 2017. Pre-orders will begin on the PlayStation Store and Steam on June 13.

A “Rise Up” PC beta will be held from June 28 to July 3. It will include the new map “Vertigo,” the new game mode “Uplink,” and a new weapons sticker for beta players. You can register at LawBreakers.com. Here is the full beta schedule:

Isometric adventure game Tunic announced for consoles and PC

Independent studio Finji announced Tunic, an isometric action adventure game that follows a tiny fox, during the PC Gaming Show at E3 2017. It will launch for consoles, PC, and Mac in 2018.

When the Mushroom Kingdom is thrown into chaos by a mysterious vortex, it’s only natural that Mario, Peach, Luigi, and Yoshi come to the rescue. But nobody knows chaos like the Rabbids, and in Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle, those long-eared rapscallions will be teaming up with the Mushroom Kingdom crew to try and set things right. Four Rabbids heroes—Rabbid Mario, Rabbid Peach, Rabbid Luigi, and Rabbid Yoshi—will embark on a brand new adventure with Mario, Peach, Luigi, and Yoshi on the Nintendo Switch on August 29.

In Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle, you’ll explore a Mushroom Kingdom that has been turned upside-down. Those iconic green pipes have sprouted Rabbid ears and turned white, and many other sights familiar to Nintendo fans have been caught up in the craziness. As you explore this colorful, vibrant world, you’ll collect coins, solve puzzles, and find hidden chests containing items and gear to help your team grow stronger against the challenging enemies that stand between you and your goal.

Your team of heroes will have to defeat enemies in turn-based battles, wielding unique ranged and melee weapons and using the environment to take cover from enemy fire. You choose three of the eight total heroes to make up your team during the single-player campaign, and you can swap them out to experiment with different combinations. Each hero has their own weapons and abilities, many of which can be cleverly combined to deal extra damage and affect your enemies adversely (e.g. set their butts on fire). The turn-based combat gives you time to consider each move, plan how you’ll use team jumps and pipes to reach optimal positions, and make the best use of each hero’s skills. The destructible cover means you can’t get too comfortable, and your enemies have some tricks of their own to keep you on your toes.

In addition to a single-player adventure that spans four worlds, Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle also includes co-op challenges (each player controls two heroes each) with multiple difficulty levels for you to take on with a friend and test your skills. You can also use your amiibos to unlock new in-game features.

Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle Kingdom Battle will be available in a Standard Edition, as well as a Collector’s Edition that includes a six-inch figurine of Rabbid Mario, a set of physical collector’s cards, and the original soundtrack. If you pre-order, you’ll also get a set of eight unique in-game weapons. Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle will be released for the Nintendo Switch on August 29.
