■ Characters
Maimi Kusunose (voiced by Hisako Tojo)
The protagonist’s cousin. Looking at her good qualities, she is cheerful and lively, but looking at her bad side, she is somewhat ill-mannered. After an unexpected turn of events, she and the protagonist live together under one roof. She is a member of the Tennis Club, and seems to be popular not only among the boys, but also among the girls.
Miu Amana (voiced by Shiori Izawa)
A mysterious girl with a shadowy quietness. While she is a bit isolated from those around her, she is the director of club activities known as “Miss Research,” and she can be of firm character. If you go to the cafe where she works part-time, you may even be able to see an unexpected side of her…
Arc System Works also announced the start of a regular web broadcast called “Mihate-chou Neighborhood Radio” featuring Maimi Kusunose voice actress Hisako Tojo and Miu Amana voice actress Shiroi Izawa starting today. The first edition is available today for viewing on YouTube and Niconico.
World End Syndrome will launch for PlayStation 4, Switch, and PS Vita in Japan in 2018.
World End Syndrome ‘another version’ teaser trailer, new story and character details
Arc System Works and Toybox Games have released new information, screenshots, and an “another version” teaser trailer for World End Syndrome, its upcoming love adventure game, following the initial teaser trailer in October.
Get the details below.
■ Story
One summer day, the protagonist moves to the seaside town “Mihate-chou,” which is situated in a cove.
On his first night there, when listening to the “World End Syndrome” local radio station that he happened upon, the popular radio DJ Hikaru Tsukioka spoke of an amazing legend as if it were truth…
For Mihate-chou, this is a fateful year. In this town, there is a legend that the dead are revived every 100 years. Those who returned to this world are called “Yomibito” (People of the Underworld)… and will bring calamity to the town.
Strangely, the case of a missing high school girl occurs in Mihate-chou this year. Could this be an “omen” of a future incident that will occur…?
The protagonist, who transferred to “Mihate High School,” where Maimi attends, joins the Mystery Research Club, or “Mys. Research” for short (a folkloristics research club on the surface), which is advised by Kaori Yamashiro, the school’s Madonna teacher.
The members of the Mys. Research club decided to have a barbecue on the river bed in order to deepen their friendships. However, there they found the bag of the school girl who went missing floating in the river.
—And a few days later, the owner of that bag was discovered as a corpse in the water.
…Yes, this year is the special year that occurs once every 100 years where the “Yomibito” return.
…Meanwhile, the shooting of the Yomibito-themed movie “World End” was going to begin very soon—.
■ System: “Exploration”
After you clear the introduction, you can freely “explore” various spots in Mihate-chou. Choose spots to visit during the morning, afternoon, and evening, interact with the people that visit, and try to get clarification on the mysterious incidents occuring in Mihate-chou. By resolving these mysterious incidents, you will approach the truth of the seemingly plausible “legend.”
■ Characters
Saya Kamishiro (voiced by Mitsuki Nakae)
A prideful and naive young woman. Her father, who represents the proud Japanese confectionery maker “Kamishiro Dou,” provides great economic benefits to the town, and no one talks back to the Kamishiro family.
Hanako Yamada (voiced by Ibuki Kido)
A mysterious transfer student who moved in from the town over. Yamashiro scouts her to join the Mys. Research club, but her “super” shy personality brings misfortune, and her behavior is always extremely suspicious.
Kensuke Asagi (voiced by Yoshitaka Yamaya)
The protagonist’s friend. He is the mood maker of the class, but there are also times when his behavior keeps the girls of the class at a distance. He is extremely weak when it comes to beauties, and is crazy about the school Madonna Yamashiro and super popular idol Rei “Nikarei” Nikaidou.
Kaori Yamashiro (voiced by Manami Numakura)
The teacher of the protagonist’s class. Given that she specializes in the study of folklore, she is also the advisor of the “Mys. Research” club (which researches folkloristics). The school calls her a Madonna due to her beauty. Her novel, “World End,” which is themed after the Yomibito, was an unprecedented mega-hit, and she was the woman of the hour, so to speak.
World End Syndrome will launch for PlayStation 4, Switch, and PS Vita in Japan in 2018.
Arc System Works will release the Dojo Games-developed fighting game Slice Dice and Rice for PlayStation 4 via the PlayStation Store in Japan on December 19 for 1,800 yen, the publisher announced.
Here is an overview of the PC version, via its Steam page:
One Clean Hit Kills
Slice Dice and Rice is an indie fighting game with no health bars. Inspired by Bushido Blade, it revolves around the idea of finding an opening in opponents defense and ending the round with a single, clean hit. Gone are the tedious hit points – each scratch impairs your movement, every wound might be your last.
Gameplay
Our goal was to make fighting games accessible to anyone. An intuitive set of basic abilities allowed us to remove the need for memorizing inputs and move-lists, while retaining the complexity. Moves can be canceled to feint an attack, hits can be parried or dodged, and they can clash with one another. This creates a mind-game heavy gameplay, one that mimics real samurai showdowns
Characters and Stages
You can play as one of eight characters, all with their own stories and unique fighting styles. Game’s cast offers many variations of gameplay, from a swift monk using only his fists in battle, to a muscular lady with a giant sword that compensates speed and mobility with endurance during her attacks.
Fights take place in alternative version of Japanese underworld and features 6 unique stages with hand-drawn textures.
