Embark on a jaw-dropping tour of Ulthuan and Lustria in Total War: Warhammer II’s Campaign First Look Video
Creative Assembly have unveiled a stunning new video, taking viewers on a journey across two continents of Total War: Warhammer II’s huge campaign map in this Campaign First Look video.
The journey begins in the High Elves’ homeland of Ulthuan, where The Great Vortex crackles with magical energy on the Isle of the Dead; its dangerously unstable presence a magnificent but ominous sight that dominates the immediate landscape. The High Elves who reside there are led by Prince Tyrion and, as the video swoops down towards the White Tower of Hoeth and past the Fortress Gates of Ulthuan, you begin to get an understanding of the proud, highly developed people who live there.
Across the treacherous oceans and into Lustria, we see several races from the Old World who have set up outposts, while rogue armies roam the continent in search of riches. You will need to decide whether to enlist them to your cause or put them to the sword in your quest for dominance. The ruins of ancient cities, overrun by the jungle-landscape are there to be exploited… will you build new settlements there, or risk calamity while you delve them for treasure, magical artifacts, and other rewards?
Over on the Turtle Isle, the High Elf Arch-Mage, Teclis, campaigns far from home, deep in Lizardmen country. The Slaan mages rule over the region, directing the Lizardmen armies and their great Saurian beasts according to their Great Plan. If they can revitalise their Geomantic Web, unseen lines of power that connect their ancient cities, their chances of enacting their Great Plan will be greatly increased.
Finally, we are introduced to two Lizardmen Legendary Lords: the Slann Mage-Priest Mazdamundi, who has adopted the Astromancy stance to gain greater insight into his lush surroundings, and the famed Saurus Old-Blood Kroq-Gar, as he prepares to lead a Lizardmen force into battle against the High Elves at The Fallen Gates.
Total War: Warhammer II is due to launch on September 28th. You can pre-order the extremely limited Serpent God Edition here, or the standard physical edition here here. For more information about Total War: Warhammer II and on how to pre-order, log on to totalwar.com.
Creative Assembly announces a new class of Total War game
Creative Assembly have shared initial plans for a new class of historical Total War game that will launch under the badge of “A Total War Saga”.
This new spin-off series will arrive with gamers before the next major historical release in the franchise, promising a busy time for historical strategy fans.
In a blog post on totalwar.com, Jack Lusted, Game Director of the first forthcoming Total War Saga title, explains what fans can expect from this new class of Total War game. Building on previous titles, Total War Sagas will centre on pivotal flashpoints in those eras, such as civil wars, renowned conquests and political upheavals.
Similar in scope and focus to Fall of The Samurai, the best-selling standalone follow-up to Shogun II, the first Total War Saga will continue on from Rome II and Attila, presenting a thrilling new challenge in a focussed geographical area.

Total War: Warhammer II Dark Elves Cinematic Trailer
With murderous prowess, the Dark Elves march forth in Total War: Warhammer II’s latest cinematic trailer
Even the noblest warrior casts a dark shadow, and so it is with the race of Elves. The High Elves may be paragons of virtue, but their closest kin represent all that is foul and depraved in the Elven soul.
Led from the obsidian wastes of Naggaroth by the Witch King Malekith and his sadistic mother Morathi, the Dark Elves are hell-bent on the humiliation and destruction of their orderly brothers, and ultimate control of the Great Vortex in Ulthuan.
The third of Total War: Warhammer II’s four playable races to be revealed so far, the Dark Elves offer a ferocious new gameplay style. Swift to strike – and brutal to a fault – they’re capable of tearing down an enemy’s defences in a trice, provided they sustain their Murderous Prowess. However, a Dark Elf leader must preserve his alpha status in the eyes of his lesser generals and keep an iron grip on their loyalty, lest their self-serving, glory-seeking nature leads to treachery!
Total War: Warhammer II launches on September 28th 2017 and is available for preorder now.
