The Technomancer Travels to Noctis, The Free City, in a New Series of Screenshots!
The Technomancer, the new post-apocalyptic RPG set in a cyberpunk world for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC from developer Spiders, will be presented in more detail at E3 Los Angeles in June. Set on Mars, the red planet, the game follows the quest of an aspiring Technomancer, who faces a myriad of questions as his future grows threatened by the secrets of his past.
Today's screenshots show this Technomancer and his companions, arriving at Noctis, one of the last strongholds of civilization on Mars. Noctis is one of the many locations you will get to explore during your adventure. A "free city" that isolated itself from the War of Water which opposes the grand Companies such as Aurora and Abundance, Noctis still holds great dangers: bandits, pillagers, and some dangerous creatures who will put your warrior skills to the test.
The Technomancer will be presented in more detail at E3 in Los Angeles, from June 16 to 18.
The Technomancer is slated for a 2016 release on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
Genetic experiments, mutations and evolution: the surprising creatures of The Technomancer come to life in a new series of screenshots
The Technomancer, Spiders' new sci-fi RPG, offers a rich and varied bestiary, that you will come across and confront in combat during your journey on Mars. In this new series of screenshots, discover a few of these strange creatures conceived and brought to life by the talented teams at Spiders studios.
Although Mars’ red surface is naturally barren and completely devoid of life, hundreds of years of human civilization has led to the creation and evolution of many hybrid species built from the genetic makeup of animals found on Earth. What was first an exercise to create an ecosystem to support the original settlers eventually grew out of control, following the cataclysm that wiped most settlers and isolated Mars from Earth. Mutations and accelerated evolution forged what little life there was into threatening beasts scattered all over the red planet.
While originally bred as domestic animals, the harsh living conditions on Mars led these creatures to develop effective defense mechanisms - poison, camouflage, brute force... The longer Mars is cut off from Earth, the more dangerous Mars’ new wildlife grows. They will aggressively defend their territory should you trespass it.
Today's screenshots show a few of these creatures. Mastery of The Technomancer’s visceral combat styles and electrical powers should help you survive the bizarre hybrid species of Mars!
Your quest on Mars begins early 2016 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC!
The Technomancer 'First Contact' Trailer ~ PS4, Xbox One & PC
Take an in-depth look at The Technomancer in the First Contact Trailer
Spiders' fifth RPG, The Technomancer, is officially revealed in detail in its First Contact Trailer. Slated for release in early 2016 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC, take a first look into the world of The Technomancer, and learn about the three dynamic and exciting combat styles:
• Staff: Highly mobile long-ranged melee to hit multiple targets.
• Rogue with knife and gun: Agile, mobile, with dodges, rolls, and effective CC with the gun.
• Protection with mace and shield: Parry, block, and beat them to death with powerful attacks!
Each of the combat styles can be imbued with electrical Technomancer powers, buffing their damage, as well as Zachariah being able to directly use his skills in battle, electrocuting, knocking out in stealth, and pounding back his foes on the Red Planet.
In the video, you'll see Zachariah fighting and exploring throughout the markets and shanties of Noctis, one of the major cities in The Technomancer, where over a hundred years of separation from Earth, new cultures, clans, and super-powers formed throughout Mars, causing clashes and in-fighting across the red planet.
It's not all about the combat, though, with a deep, modular crafting system changing the visible and active qualities of clothing and weapons from scrap you find on Mars. Cut off from Earth for 120 years, Mars is a world in conflict, with many different cultures and communities - and the games weapons and clothing reflect this quality, with jury rigged and make-shift weapons and armor, designed for survival, or militaristic rule!
From melee combat skills to active and passive abilities, everything can be unlocked and upgraded in the ability tree, where you'll be able to improve the games' three combat styles, and also your technomancer abilities as you level up and gain XP.
There are up to five different ways to finish quests in The Technomancer, and your choices will affect the story ending. Romance your companions, craft, quest, kill, and explore Mars, coming 2016 to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
The Technomancer's new trailer takes you across the wastelands and cities of Mars
Experience the distinctive, sci-fi world of Spiders’ epic RPG, The Technomancer. The game takes place on a dystopian Mars, hundreds of years after the first human colonies set foot on its red plains. Today’s trailer showcases a few of The Technomancer's unique environments and dangers. Pursued by a corrupt police force, you must journey across these deadly environments and beyond, chasing a secret that could alter Mars and its inhabitants forever.
The Technomancer takes place after a cataclysmic event that decimated the population and isolated the red planet from Earth. The pioneering optimism of the early colonies has long since vanished. In its place lies no man's lands, sprawling shanty towns, and broken cities governed by shadowy officials. The fractured settlements offer protection from the lethal radiations of the Sun, but they’re far from safe havens: desperate criminals and terrifying, mutated creatures lie in wait for the unprepared.
Your adventure on Mars begins summer 2016, available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC
The Technomancer, the next game from Mars War Logs and Bound By Flame developer Spiders, will launch for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on June 21 in North America and Europe, publisher Focus Home Interactive announced.
Over at the PlayStation Blog, creative director Jeanne Rousseau shared details about the game:
Main Character
Zachariah is a rookie Technomancer from Abundance, one of the powerful corporations on Mars. Technomancers are formidable warriors harnessing destructive electrical powers channeled through their implants.
Your journey starts at Ophir, capital of Abundance, erected from the remains of the first human settlements in the Ophir Chasma.
Combat Styles
Picking from three combat stances, you’ll be able to specialize your style of play, making use of the Technomancer’s special electrical abilities to buff yourself or actively attack the many monsters roaming the red planet.
The combat with the staff is based on mobility and damage, using sweeping blows against groups comprising several enemies.
Fighting with Blade and gun requires agility, dodging, and controlling the pace of combat with the nail gun.
Finally, the Blade and shield combat style focuses on defense, blocking and parrying to inflict heavy damage in response to an attack.
Danger and Exploration
Mars is a dangerous place, with deadly threats lurking around every corner. Whether you’re facing underworld mobs in the slums of Ophir, spy soldiers who seek to hunt you down, Technomancers from rival corporation Aurora, or the many mutated hybrid creatures roaming the canyons of Mars, you’ll have to think and fight tactically if you want to survive.
Of course, your Technomancer talents can be combined to your combat style: electrify your weapon to boost the damage, or create an electricity shield to boost your defense… it’s also important to consider changing stances in the middle of a fight to gain an advantage!
Visit cities scattered throughout Mars and learn of new cultures separated from Earth for many years. We’re excited for you to explore our vision of the red planet inhabited by humans, corporations, and genetically modified monsters on June 21.
The Technomancer: Companions Trailer Shows There's Strength in Numbers
The Technomancer, the sci-fi RPG set on Mars, releases on June 28 and will be available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. A few days ago the Gameplay Trailer unveiled deep RPG mechanics - character evolution, dynamic combat, crafting, equipment customization, multiple ways to solve quests - as well as a captivating story where all your choices will have a direct impact on the destiny of Mars.
Today, the Companions Trailer unveils how all these gameplay mechanics are enriched by the interactions and relationships you will create with the companions who will follow you in your journey through the Red Planet.
Each companion has his own story. Get to know them because some will join out of loyalty, others out of mere opportunity... or as a result of a chain of unfortunate events. When you are out there, exploring or fighting, you may select up to 2 companions in your party to come with you. Choose carefully, as they all have their own unique fighting styles that should complement your own, including special talents useful for utility, such as crafting, knowledge in science, or lockpicking. Picking one companion over another thus has a significant impact on the way you play The Technomancer, as well as there is an impact on the story you are living.
Your companions all have their agenda or preoccupations. They regularly ask you for help or for favors. Should you decide to accept their requests, you will trigger a special series of missions that let you learn more about their past. These quests follow their unique scenario that enriches the main story. Completing these side quests will add numerous hours of gameplay, and will improve your relationship with your companions...
Your companions level up alongside you. Each one gets his own inventory from where you can modify their gear at any time. Equip them with new weapons and armour that you can upgrade with your crafting talents. Make sure to provide them with the best equipment, you will drastically increase their survivability and lethality. And, you can also make sure they look appropriately badass as they run with you around the deadly place that is Mars.
Each of your companions has his/her own behavior, opinions, and moral code. If you act too much against their beliefs, they might get so upset that they would go so far as to leave your group. On the contrary, shine and prove worthy of their trust, and you'll nurture friendships... or even romances. All your decisions will have irreversible consequences on Mars and its inhabitants!
This is perfectly illustrated in today's 3-minute long Companions Trailer!

The Technomancer 'Survive on Mars' Gameplay Trailer
Technomancer: everything you need to know to survive on Mars in a new gameplay trailer
The Technomancer, the sci-fi RPG set on Mars, releases on June 28 and will be available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. We previously showed a Gameplay Trailer giving you an overview of the gameplay mechanics of the title, as well as a Companions trailer showing all the interactions and relationships you can build with your teammates. Today, we're unveiling a brand new video that will teach you how to Survive on Mars.
With its terraforming aborted hundreds of years ago, and a murderous sun to boot, the Red Planet isn't exactly a hospitable place, and every nook and cranny of the forsaken planet holds deadly, lurking threats. Just like these hybrid creatures roaming the canyons of Mars, originally bioengineered by the first settlers from the genetic makeup of animals found on Earth. But the other human survivors can be just as dangerous. Ever since Mars got isolated from Earth, multiple factions have risen, desperate and determined to secure whatever power they may get hold of. You will be able to befriend these factions depending on your actions and your choices throughout the story.
Thankfully, you have all the tools to survive this harsh environment. While a diplomatic or a stealthy approach can be the best choice to escape from a perilous situation, sometimes combat is the only way, and the use of your devastating Technomancer powers will be crucial. Each of your powers can be upgraded by spending points in the skill tree, but they also all have access to two mutually exclusive upgrades, changing the way the power behaves. These upgrades, coupled with your handpicked special talents and choice of equipment and crafting components, will heavily influence your combat strategy, and overall playstyle.
Your technomancy powers compliment your chosen combat stance: fight with the Staff, the signature of a Technomancer; with a blade and gun, the mark of a rogue; or a mace and shield, the weapons favoured by soldiers. Just like with technomancy, each of these three stances has its own skill tree, where you can gain new skills, but also improve them through different upgrade paths.
Upgrading your arsenal is equally important. You will find, loot and buy better weapons and armor. Each has its own bonuses, and some also have crafting slots, allowing you to further improve their stats according to your preferences and playstyle. You'll be able to improve damage, resistance, as well as add various special effects such as disruption, resistance to specific damage types, energy regeneration, and more. Improving your crafting talent and learning new construction plans will let you craft more powerful gear.
