EA宣布Need For Speed 加入到EA sports品牌旗下

  EA近日决定把《极品飞车》的品牌放到EA srorts旗下,EA工作室副总裁Patrick Soderlund公布了,同时他认为《极品飞车》作为已经持续了20年的游戏品牌时候来一次大革新了,驾驶也算是一项运动,所以加入EA sports也不算太怪,同时《极品飞车》可以从其它运动类游戏中学到很多东西,毕竟EA Sports成功运作了好几个著名体育游戏品牌。

  极品飞车最新作《极品飞车:竞争》将会在本月登陆次世代主机。

Need for Speed now a part of the EA Sports banner

Going forward, Need for Speed will be included in the EA Sports label. The series previously went under the general EA banner.

Matt Bilbey, one of the leading staffers at EA Sports, will be one of the leading staffers behind Need for Speed in the future. EA Studios Patrick Soderlund told Polygon that the IP “could benefit from from fresh eyes, could benefit from some different thinking, and we think that Matt is the right guy to do that.”

Soderlund said:

“Matt will run FIFA, he runs UFC, but he also runs NHL (or has people that report up to him). We’re also putting Need for Speed and our driving business under Matt. We think that could benefit from from fresh eyes, could benefit from some different thinking, and we think that Matt is the right guy to do that. He’s got a very different viewpoint about how to make games and what great games.”

“I think that we can learn a lot from the sports games and what they’ve done,” Soderlund said. “When you play a sports game, the controller in your hand will dictate how good the game is. It’s all about player control and input and how it feels. It’s a feeling, right? I think that focus on pure gameplay, is something that can benefit the Need for Speed brand in a very positive way.”

EA公布次世代版《FIFA14》视频展示进化之处

  EA公布了一段《FIFA14》 新的宣传片,新视频展示了次世代所能带来的改变,玩家可以控制更多的动作。次时代版本的《FIFA 14》将会是次世代主机的首发游戏,PS4版将在11月15日发售,XBOX ONE版在11月22日发售。

Battlefield 4

EA表示《泰坦陨落》续作不再独占 将会登陆PS4

  《泰坦陨落》这部EA所发行的次世代大作将面向XboxOne和PC平台,并且在发布时即表示不会登陆PS系和任天堂平台。当然该系列的续作将放开限制,登陆多平台,EA CFO Blake Jorgensen昨天在UBD全球科技会议上表示。

  “我相信《泰坦陨落》以后的作品将会在某个时间登陆多平台。当然具体情况我还不是很了解,这要看现在负责开发的团队了。”Jorgensen表示,“但是总的来说,我们对《泰坦陨落》本作十分满意,相信这将会是一款十分轰动的大部头作品,并会在Xbox One上取得成功。”

  关于为何《泰坦陨落》原作将仅针对Xbox One和PC独占,Jorgen表示这只是一个商业策略,源于微软和EA之间的合作关系。

  《泰坦陨落》将会在2014年3月11日登陆Xbox360、XboxOne和PC。玩具公司K'NEX在本周发布消息表示将会出基于《泰坦陨落》制作一系列的新玩具。



EA on why Titanfall is exclusive to Xbox and PC

Respawn’s shooter will be an exclusive release on Xbox and PC. As a result, EA won’t be publishing a PlayStation version at any point in the future.

As for why this is so, EA CFO Blake Jorgensen explained at the UBS Global Technology Conference that the exclusivity is in place as a basic business agreement. EA also felt it was best to keep Titanfall on Microsoft consoles.

Jorgensen said:

“That’s a process that’s been done through the industry for many years. There’s lots of single-platform titles. Obviously, you work with the first-parties to make sure the economics make sense for all sides, and we made that decision on Titanfall.”

“It’s a business partnership. We’re trying to make sure that we’ve developed a great relationship with them. We helped them on marketing, we helped them on development where they need it. And we try to maintain a strong partnership with them over time.”


Titanfall’s first outing isn’t coming to PlayStation platforms, but Jorgensen wouldn’t rule out a PS4 version of a future iteration.

“So obviously it’s the first title that’s committed to a single platform.”

One last topic we wanted to talk about was the next Star Wars game, the franchise that will come through the licensing deal with Disney; if you could help us understand how that came about, sort of what are the challenges and opportunities of developing that kind of game alongside of, obviously, an enormous movie title that will no doubt do big business?

Blake J. Jorgensen

Yes, so I mean we’ve done movie games over the years and we wanted to make sure that we weren’t doing a movie game i.e., game based on the movie, the beauty of the Star Wars franchise is that it's so broad and so deep, you don’t have to do a movie game, you can do a game that's very focused on the world that's been created around Star Wars. We had a long relationship obviously with Lucas on the original Star Wars and when Disney took over Lucas, they really wanted to maintain a video game business around Star Wars. They felt it was very valuable and a lot of people loved the games historically. And so they came to us because of our partnership and they knew that we could help them develop really great games and we struck what we believe is a fantastic deal which allows us to be able to build games in many different genres across multiple types of platforms over 10 years and we’ll leverage the strength of the Disney marketing associated with the Star Wars properties both in movies and other things that they may do over the timeframe. We’ll try to align those with that marketing, power the Disney has so it will get aligned with timing around the movies, but it won’t necessarily be aligned with the movie.

We’ve shown a trailer for one of the possible games that we’re going to make Battlefront and it’s got a lot of people very excited because it’s a very popular game from before. We have the team in DICE, building some early stages of various games and building them in Frostbite, so it will be a very exciting game play and you’ll hear more about it in the years to come, but we’re very excited about the opportunity.

So you have a fair bit of flexibility to create content around the universe in general that J.J. Abrams and his team is going to build up with the Lucasfilm’s franchise. It’s not totally tied in just to the movies.

Yes, definitely very much – so, very much around the historical types of games as in play plus new games that we’re inventing around their content, around the broad Star Wars content, and around some of the new assets that they may produce over time as well.

Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare Launching in February, New Gameplay Video
《植物大战僵尸:花园战争》明年2月上市


  相信不少玩家考虑入手微软次世代主机Xbox One很大的原因,就是因为EA旗下的FPS新作《植物大战僵尸:花园战争(Plants vs Zombies: Garden Warfare)》。就在不久前EA官方正式宣布《植物大战僵尸:花园战争》Xbox One版与Xbox 360版将在2014年2月18日登陆北美,并将在2月20日登陆欧洲。同时EA表示将会在“不久之后”公布游戏PC版的发售日期。

  《植物大战僵尸:花园战争》是一个没有单人模式的第三人称射击游戏,原计划就是会率先登陆微软Xbox平台,售价为Xbox One版本39.99美元,Xbox 360版本29.99美元。

  游戏将包括十张以上的游戏地图,3种游戏模式,包括两种12v12的竞技模式,分别叫做“花园与墓地(Garden & Graveyards)”和“团队征服(Team Vanquish)”,还有一个4人合作模式,叫做“花园行动(Garden OPS)”。

Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare Blasts Its Way Onto Xbox One and Xbox 360 on February 2014

DICE认为EA避开千篇一律的游戏是一个明智的举动

EA has been publishing FIFA Manager games for over a decade. FIFA Manager 14, however, will be the series’ last.

Gerald Köhler, founder and designer of the franchise, announced in an open letter this past weekend that no further FIFA Manager titles will be produced. He said that “one game has practically dominated the market,” which is almost certainly a reference to SEGA’s Football Manager 14.

好刺激!《植物大战僵尸:花园战争》新视频

最受瞩目的次世代大作《植物大战僵尸:花园战争》就要在明年二月发售了,它给人留下了精美画面和幽默的印象让人激动不已。

今天EA通过EA新加坡YouTube频道放出了一个将近十分钟的游戏演示视频,附带着宝开的执行制作人Brian Lindley的讲解。在该视频中,Lindley为大家展示了一下团队射击玩法,一些不同职业和角色的自定义选项,和其它一些内容。

《泰坦陨落》制作组认为不应采取强制在线政策

  《泰坦陨落》制作组Respawn工作室正在开发的虽然是一款在线射击游戏,但他们的社区经理Abble Heppe相信,这种模式不应该成为主导,因为单机游戏体验依然有非常巨大的空间。

  Heppe对于《泰坦陨落》的在线模式表示,“我们一直以来的计划都是在线射击游戏。但其实这种游戏很奇怪。我仔细想了一下现在我玩游戏的方式。即使当我自己玩单机的时候,也会经常看到好友上线通知什么的,非常社交化。除非我忽略整个世界,关掉一切通知。”

  “就连手机游戏也都有在线社交功能,甚至在我不玩多人游戏的时候它也是“在线”的。现在对于游戏的社交体验强调的太多了。但在线功能却一直都没有跟上时代创新的速度,一直都是同样的一套东西。”

  在《泰坦陨落》作品中,在线功能是最基本最重要的,但Heppe补充说,绝不应该把在线功能当做例行公事。“我们虽然是一款在线射击游戏,但我依然认为单机游戏体验的空间很大,有些东西并不一定非要赶时髦,搞网络化。”

  “有些游戏本来是单机游戏,但制作组却依然强加了在线游戏部分的内容。我认为制作组应该做好自己擅长的哪一部分,不应该为了满足市场而强加他们本来不想做的东西。这种做法很傻。”

《植物大战僵尸:花园战争》成独占是“自然迁移”

  《植物大战僵尸:花园战争》是Xbox One限时独占游戏。PopCap的制作人Brian Lindley在最近的一次采访中透露了工作室同微软之间的关系。

  Lindley说:“我们对于Xbox的平台有很多经验,我们最初主要开发平台都是Xbox 360和PC。

  我觉得EA同微软的关系已经增强和发展,对于我们来说从PC和Xbox 360到Xbox One的转变只是自然迁徙而已。Xbox One是一部非常棒的主机,给予我们机会让游戏视觉效果惊人,能在非常好的帧数下运行。”

  当被问及是否《花园战争》最初是否考虑过其他平台的时候,他回答说:“最初并没有那么想。我们同微软的关系很方便的让Xbox One成为首先登陆的平台。我们的团队较小。我们的人手让我们不能一开始就同时在5-6个平台发售,所以我们最开始肯定要把精力集中在1-2个平台上,而同微软之间的关系让我们很容易就做出了选择。”

《植物大战僵尸:花园战争》韩国评级委员会透露PS4版

  虽然《植物大战僵尸:花园战争》最早公布的时候是说XBOX ONE和XBOX360平台限时独占,但是EA却尚未确认该作有PS4版本。

  不过日前来自韩国游戏评级委员会方面的透露,他们已经对该作的PS4版、XBOX ONE版和XBOX360版进行评级,后两种版本已经是公布过的了,而PS4版的评级是否意味着该作已经确定了要登陆PS4平台了呢?同时这次的消息中并未提到PS3版本的评级,所以该作也有可能为本世代XBOX360主机独占作品。不过EA向来是喜欢横跨多个平台推出游戏,所以既然要出PS4版也不会放过PS3平台的。

EA可能将会开发一款开放世界《星球大战》游戏

  最近的一个招工广告说明EA加拿大分部可能正在制作一款开放世界的《星球大战》游戏。

  工作室正在为一个“重要的次世代开放世界游戏”寻找一个动画总监。在9月的时候,工作室的招聘负责人还在推特上为一个星球大战项目寻找一名战斗设计师。

  EA加拿大还在为一个星球大战游戏寻找一名制作人,这名制作人很有可能将会参与制作还没有公布的星球大战游戏。

  Redwood Shores寻找星球大战游戏制作人广告的内容几乎一模一样。

  尽管星球大战的游戏已经有很多,但是目前还没有一部为开放世界游戏。LucasArts被关闭之前,曾经尝试开发一款名为《星球大战1313》的开放世界游戏。

  EA同迪士尼的协议长达10年,首个被公布的游戏为DICE制作的《星球大战:前线》。有消息称BioWare也在开发另一款《星球大战》游戏。

EA Soderlund表示PS4等次世代主机时代为5-6年



  PS4马上要紧跟Xbox One的步伐,在欧洲和英国地区开始销售。很多玩家都为之疯狂,但是EA工作室执行副总裁 Patrick Soderlund日前表示,这一次世代主机的时代将在2018-19年结束。他认为这个周期相对之前会短一些。

  在同MCV交流时,Soderlund表示,“本世代的主机周期已经比我预计的要长了一些,”他补充道,“同时,玩家会在这一周期的末尾看到《美国末日》和《侠盗猎车5》这种几年前根本不会预见到的大作出现。但是我认为在5-6年的时间里相应的主机应该更新换代了。”

  在这过程中锐意进取和勇于创新是关键因素,Soderlund认为EA已经做到了这一点。对于《泰坦陨落》,他认为目前该作品收到的各界好评已经证明了这一点。“这种反应已经向我们表明玩家不会每年都想玩一样的游戏,”他继续谈道,“即便是那些有前代基础的游戏,我们也必须保证有所创新,不然没有玩家会买你的帐。”

EA表示从来不认为自己是美国最差公司

  EA的Patrick Soderlund在最近的一次采访中谈论了在被连续两年评为美国最差公司以后,EA是如何改变玩家的看法的。

他说:

  “我从来没有相信我们是美国最差公司,但是我确实相信如果获得了这个称号,你就必须扪心自问,为什么人们这么说?我们这么做了,然后我们开始明白我们的作法人们不是很喜欢。”他表示这改变了他们的决策,新的决策就是在新的主机时代把取悦玩家作为主要目标。

  “就拿在线验证码来说吧。玩家告诉我们他们不喜欢这个验证码。所以我们在权衡利弊以后就彻底放弃使用。这些决定都需要被玩家的反馈而驱使,这也是过去我们犯的错误。如果我们继续这么做,那么我们就会获得玩家的信任和尊敬。我们从来不想被评为美国最差公司。我们想成为最好的。”

  他承认要想让所有人都满意很难,特别是玩家数量众多的情况下,但是他表示他们会更加努力。

  “人无完人,必定会犯错,但是当你犯错后,要勇于承认,然后去改正这个错误。没有一个人或者公司会是完美的。完美是不存在的。”

  在6月的时候,EA的高管Frank Gibeau曾经表示公司希望不再被玩家痛恨而正在努力的改变公司的形象。Gibeau同时还表示网络验证码是个“愚蠢”的主意。
