Thief Has Gone Gold

That’s right folks; Eidos-Montréal’s Thief has gone Gold and will be in the hands of all would be Master Thieves later this month. To celebrate the news we’re releasing a brand new ‘Thief - 101 Trailer’ that details everything you need to know about Thief.

“It’s a wrap, Thief is gold. It’s nearly time for the fans to fall in love with Thief all over again, and time for newcomers to finally see what all the fuss is about” said Stephane Roy, Producer. “Thief is one of the founding-fathers of the stealth genre; we’re proud to have worked on such a well-loved series and proud to say; Garrett, the Master Thief is back.”

Thief is the second game from Eidos-Montréal whose previous title Deus Ex: Human Revolution also saw them breathing life back into a classic, critically acclaimed series. It’s not an easy challenge – but they’ve gone and done it again!

Today’s brand new ‘Thief 101 trailer’ provides key insights on the game’s story, its key characters, key gameplay and key feature set (including the fact that the game’s main character is a Master Thief who doesn’t need keys).

In this feature trailer, you will learn everything you need to know about Thief, the upcoming stealth-action game from the studio that brought you Deus Ex: Human Revolution. Out soon on PC, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One, the game takes full advantage of next-gen graphics and hardware to deliver a tactile and immersive experience like nothing you’ve felt before.

You are Garrett, the Master Thief. Back from the shadows in a City brought to its knees by sickness and oppression, you’ll need to use all the skills and tools in your arsenal to find the truth... before your enemies find you. After all, you are a thief, not a saviour, and the political affairs of the City matter much less to you than the shiny possessions of its noblest citizens.

'Thief: Stories From the City' Part 3 Trailer Released Today

Square Enix and Eidos-Montréal, the award winning studio behind the critically acclaimed Deus Ex: Human Revolution today released “The Thief Taker General’s Hunt”, the third and final trailer in the series of stylized videos focusing on the rich narrative and characters of THIEF’s corrupt and broken city.

The Thief Taker General is Commander of the Baron’s Watch; his main motive… to hunt and hang every thief in The City and he is hell-bent on capturing the prize that he desires most; Garrett, the Master Thief.

The Thief Taker General is corrupt to the bone, using fear to enforce an exorbitant ‘black tax’ on members of the underworld; those who don’t pay find themselves at the end of a noose. The Thief Taker General also runs a grisly large-scale operation where the bodies of the victims who have died from the mysterious sickness known as ‘The Gloom’ are collected and stripped bare, everything of value is stolen from their cold, stiff corpses; clothes, jewellery - even artificial limbs and gold teeth. So who is the biggest Thief in The City?

Thief will be in your hands on 28th February 2014 in North America and all European territories for Windows PC, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One.

　　日前官方放出最新的游戏实机演示，本段视频中完整展现了游戏中的一个名为Lockdown的任务。同时官方也表示这段视频是从完整游戏中截取的，而并非开发过程中录制的，玩家们可以通过视频来了解游戏的原貌。《神偷4》将于2014年2月25日发售，登陆PS4、PS3、XBOX ONE、XBOX360和PC平台。

   

Lockdown Mission Playthrough

We've shown quite a few gameplay demos in the past months, yet you clamour, you thirst for more. You just can't wait to immerse yourself in the City and you want to see pure gameplay, unedited and uncommented.

Well, I'm all about giving the people what they want, so I've asked our Marketing Coordinator Jean-Philippe Chicoine to shoot one full mission playthrough just for you. He chose the mission right after the tutorial, as it’s the first time players will be free to experiment fully with the environment and gameplay mechanics, and it offers at least four different ways to infiltrate the building so we could show you things you haven’t seen before without spoiling the plot too much. Here it is!

Hold Onto Your Hats/Hoods: Thief is Launching Next week!

Square Enix and Eidos-Montréal, the award winning studio behind the critically acclaimed Deus Ex: Human Revolution today released a Thief launch trailer to celebrate that Garrett, The Master Thief is almost ready to step from the shadows.

Thief is out next week, so take a sneaky peek at the launch trailer containing new sections of gameplay and glimpses at some key encounters that lie in wait for Garrett.

Thief launches on Tuesday, February 25 for Windows PC, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One.

《神偷4》制作组须将AI变傻才能保障游戏难度适宜

　　《神偷4》的早期版本中，敌人AI非常聪明，游戏设计师不得不让它们变得更傻，这样才会让玩家能够继续玩下去。

　　游戏总监Nic Cantin表示，早期版本中的守卫太真实了，很轻松就能发现主角Garrett。而为了让《神偷》的游戏体验具有娱乐性，设计师们不得不把AI变傻一些。

　　“AI工程师们非常骄傲，他们设计出的AI非常出色，就算你扔点东西吸引他们的注意力，他们也依然会有所防备，进行预判，并轻松发现玩家，大打出手。所以有的时候游戏会变得非常难，所以我们花了很长时间进行平衡调整，把AI的复杂程度降低，让它们不做过多的预判。”

　　首席关卡设计师Daniel Windfield Schmidt表示，玩家们必须学会如何使用影子来愚弄守卫。

　　“所以我们非常鼓励玩家一直躲避在暗影中。这样守卫就的视野就会比你更小，因为他们看不到影子里。这就是扮演Garrett的要点，这是他眼中的世界。我们想要打造的场景是，即使守卫就在你身边，但只要你在黑暗中一动不动，他们就看不见你。我们并不想让黑影成为你万无一失的庇护所，但至少在这里比在外面更安全。”

　　《神偷》将于本月底登陆Xbox One，PS4，Xbox 360，PS3和PC。
