Mark your calendars because 7th Dragon III Code: VFD will be launching in the Americas on July 12! To get you ready for when that day arrives, you're going to have to know what it takes to make a party, so we've created a video that highlights the game's expansive character creation.

The best part about character creation in 7th Dragon III Code: VFD? Other than being able to custom build, from scratch, each of the nine characters in your party are the 96 appearance variations and 40 voice options you get to pick from. There are no shortage of stylish outfits and unique personalities you'll get to bring into the dungeons with you. But while you fret over which combination matches your personal dungeoning style best, you'll first have to choose from the game's eight character classes:

• Samurai - The class that loves swords, blades, and anything with a sharp edge.

• Agent - The class that shoots and hacks with extreme prejudice.

• God Hand - The class that heals allies and bruises enemies with nasty hooks and uppercuts.

• Duelist - The class that uses magical cards to summon supernatural beings into battle.

• Rune Knight - The class that deals devastating damage with magical short swords.

• Fortuner - The class that can cast useful debuff effects.

• Mage - The class that can unleash the full power of mana.

• Banisher - The class that likes to smash.

While a wise person would choose to create a well balanced team that can take on variety of different enemies and have fantastic party synergy, there's always something to be said for creating a party full of Banishers to smash everything in sight. View/download the new trailer below!

Free DLC Plans Announced for Total War: Warhammer

As with other recent Total War titles, Creative Assembly is pleased to say that Total War: Warhammer will also feature a programme of post-release Free DLC for everyone who owns the game.

In the months following launch, players will be able to grab additional new units, Heroes, Legendary Lords and even an entire new playable Race, all for free.

“With both Rome II and Attila we were able to release playable factions, new formats and even a free campaign expansion as a thanks to players for supporting Total War,” said Rob Bartholomew, Brand Director at CA. “The Warhammer Fantasy Battles World is gigantic, and we’re looking forward to exploring it over the forthcoming trilogy. But that incredible cast of characters and monsters also provides us the chance to make lots of interesting Free DLC to support our games over time.”

A new developer blog on Total War’s website talks in more detail about the future content plans for Total War: Warhammer, including what players can expect from forthcoming paid-DLC Campaign, Race and Lords packs before the second game in the trilogy arrives.

Incorporating brand new footage from the stunning campaign map and a variety of spectacular, battlefield environments – this video journeys across the entire Total War: Warhammer Old World and offers an ominous first look at Archaeon Everchosen, the most favoured Son of Chaos.

Covering many leagues in size, the Old World of Warhammer Fantasy Battles is as diverse as it is perilous; the infested forests that surround the Empire’s cities, to the lakes and groves of Bretonnia; from the mountain passes guarded by the Dwarfs, to the bleak moors and haunted marshes of Sylvania. And in the north are the ice-clad lands of Norsca and beyond that… darkness and insanity reign supreme.

To follow on from this, a new series of ‘Battlefield Briefing’ videos will be released on the Total War YouTube account in the coming weeks showing elaborated and detailed visual accounts of the various environments and battlefields in Total War: Warhammer.

Get a closer look at Bloodpine Woods in this first episode of Battlefield Briefing and see more of the epic visuals from the map such as abandoned human settlements and Greenskins camps.

We're also telling you more about the multiple strategic options the vast planes and dense forests offer and how you can optimise your army roster to assure victories on this specific battlefield.

Spoiler alert: long range artillery like Helstorm Rocket Battery and cavalry with the Vanguard trait such as the Pistoliers are perfect on this map.

About Battlefield Briefing: In this new video series, we are taking a closer look at some of the key battlefields in Total War: Warhammer and talk about the different strategies, tactics and challenges these maps offer.

These battlefields are Quest Battles in the game however we are looking at them from a Custom Battle Mode perspective. Recording is done directly in-game, hiding the user interface by pressing the “K” shortcut and using the cinematic mode on units.
