F.E.A.R.开发者新作 风格独特FPS《背叛者》公布

Seattle-based indie game developer Blackpowder Games today revealed Betrayer, an eerie and atmospheric first-person action adventure game for the PC. Betrayer is the self-funded debut of the studio, which was founded by ex-Monolith developers best known as the creative team responsible for the No One Lives Forever series and the original F.E.A.R.

Betrayer is set to release as a Steam Early Access title on August 14.

About the Game

Betrayer is a first person action adventure game that takes you to the New World at the turn of the 17th century.

The year is 1604. You sailed from England expecting to join a struggling colony on the coast of Virginia. Instead, you find only ghosts and mysteries. What catastrophe blighted the land and drained it of color and life? Where are the settlers and tribes who lived here? And who is the strange, silent woman in red who aids you from afar?

Clue by clue, you must piece together the story of what befell this doomed settlement and find a way to set things right. You will be hunted by corrupted Conquistadors and ravening shadows as you explore an expansive wilderness in order to trace the brief, tragic history of the colony and search for survivors.

Report: Sources close to Valve confirm Left 4 Dead 3

　　之前网上曝出了《求生之路3》的照片，一位DOTA2玩家在访问Valve总部时发现一台电脑上显示着《求生之路3》的信息随即拍照分享这信息，经过大家仔细观察之后发现《求生之路3》将会使用Source2引擎制作。

　　自从《求生之路3》被意外曝光后寻求了多方的证实，所有的匿名来源都证实《求生之路3》确实在制作中而且使用Source2引擎制作，但是该人士拒绝透露更多信息。到此为止Valve官方并没有做出任何正式回应。

RPS Verifies: Those Left 4 Dead 3/Source 2 Images, More

Hello there, you are on the Internet. Assuming this is not your first time ever diving into this brave, wacky experiment that’s been a cornerstone of human society for the past 15 years, you are almost certainly aware of two things: 1) Porn. 2) A screenshot of an alleged Valve change log that recently leaked, more or less revealing the existence of Left 4 Dead 3 and Source Engine 2. I decided to get in touch with a few sources close to Valve for verification and a few scant details.

First up, the most important detail: yes, the image – which references L4D3 and Source 2 in multiple subject lines – is 100 percent real. Multiple sources, who wished to remain anonymous, confirmed as much. For the moment, at least, it’s probably safe to assume that both are in development.

More interestingly, one source also pointed to another, slightly less-publicized email leak from a couple months ago that referenced Left 4 Dead 3 (with nearly 70 developers to its name), Source 2, and Half-Life 3, in addition to smaller scale mystery projects like “Cries Unheard” and “Microbe Wars”. The source declined to comment any further, but specifically pointed to it as something else well worth looking at. It should be noted, however, that the leak in question referenced some outdated information – including employees who had since departed from the shadowy mega-studio.

Contrasting that to an extent, further rumblings – verified by multiple sources but not really elaborated upon because Valve – suggest an internal feeling of change in recent times due to the success of potentially un-ending mainstay games like Valve’s own DOTA 2 and League of Legends. Perhaps expect fewer short-lived, more traditional games out of the gated Newelltopia, but note that I am only speculating about what might happen as a result of Valve’s apparent change in direction.

I’ve requested official comment from Valve, but heard nothing back so far. I’ll update this story if I do.

11月1日上市 《致命预感》PC版发售日期公布



　　归功于Steam绿灯计划，超自然冒险游戏《致命预感》（Deadly Premonition）将于今年年底前登陆Steam。

　　开发商Rising Star早在今年七月确认了这部PC版移植游戏，但直到本周才公布游戏的具体发售时间。根据游戏的Steam页面，《致命预感》将于11月1日发售，售价目前尚未确定。

　　像游戏的PS3版本一样，PC版是限时独占Xbox 360版本的“导演剪辑版”，包含了全新的故事情节、增强的高清画面（有新材质）、更好的操作以及其他新的内容。

　　此次发售的PC版除了此前的所有内容之外，也将拥有其独有的新增内容。

　　《致命预感》PC版在公布一周后就通过了Steam绿灯计划。

Valve Announces Steam Family Sharing, Goes Into Beta Next Week
好消息！Valve宣布Steam平台将推出家庭共享功能

知名游戏厂商Valve 今日宣布旗​​下Steam平台将推出家庭共享（Family Sharing）功能，正开放玩家报名参与测试中。

Valve 表示，当家庭共享功能正式上市后，玩家的家人与亲密朋友将可以用个人帐号启动分享的游戏，并且各自在云端保有各自的成就与游戏进度。玩家可以浏览家庭成员的游戏库，要求授权来下载并且游玩游戏；游戏库的所有者可以指定10 台硬体装置来分享，而游戏库如果决定要分享就必须全部分享，而不能选择小部分范围分享游戏，也就是说其他成员将可以浏览玩家整个游戏库。

另外，一个分享的游戏库一次只能有一名玩家来使用，而游戏库的所有者将拥有优先权。也就是说，当某人正在「借」游戏游玩时，若是刚好遇上游戏库的所有者决定在另一台装置登入游玩，正在玩的这名好友或是家人会有一点点的时间来决定要购买这款游戏继续游玩，或是退出游戏。

不过，Valve 也提醒玩家若是要使用家庭共享功能，最好是跟值得信赖的家人与朋友分享，否则如果来分享玩家游戏的人如果在分享的游戏中有诈欺或是作弊的行为的话，届时家庭共享功能的权限可能会被撤销。

Steam Family Sharing, a new service feature that allows close friends and family members to share their libraries of Steam games, is coming to Steam, a leading platform for the delivery and management of PC, Mac, and Linux games and software. The feature will become available next week, in limited beta on Steam.

Steam Family Sharing is designed for close friends and family members to play one another's Steam games while each earning their own Steam achievements and storing their own saves and application data to the Steam cloud. It's all enabled by authorizing a shared computer.

“Our customers have expressed a desire to share their digital games among friends and family members, just as current retail games, books, DVDs, and other physical media can be shared,” explained Anna Sweet of Valve. “Family Sharing was created in direct response to these user requests.”

Once a device is authorized, the lender's library of Steam games becomes available for others on the machine to access, download, and play. Though simultaneous usage of an account’s library is not allowed, the lender may always access and play his games at any time. If he decides to start playing when a friend is borrowing one of his games, the friend will be given a few minutes to either purchase the game or quit playing.

Who owns and can access the DLC and in-game content associated with a borrowed title?

A borrower will have access to the lender’s DLC, but borrowers may not purchase DLC for a base game they don't own. Any player may purchase, trade, earn, or otherwise acquire in-game content while playing a game, but in-game items cannot be shared between accounts. These items remain the property of the account that purchased or acquired them, whether borrowing or lending the base game.

Can region-restricted content be shared across regions?

No, any region restrictions will remain in place when lending or borrowing content.

Will I be punished for any cheating or fraud conducted by other users while playing my games?

Your Family Sharing privileges may be revoked if your library is used by borrowers to conduct cheating or fraud. We recommend you only authorize familiar computers you know to be secure.

去年暑期，开发商Wild Games Studio曾公布了这款用虚幻3引擎打造的游戏《首日：加里迷踪（Day One：Garry’s Incident）》，但之后就没了任何下文。今天，开发商公布该作已在Steam上开放预订。该作是一款生存冒险FPS，在游戏中玩家可以打造他们自己的武器和弹药，为了生存而去寻找食物。
