PAX游戏展:Gearbox透露正在开发两款次世代新作

  Gearbox最近才公布了Borderlands 2《无主之地2》将登陆PSV平台,而如今又马不停蹄地公布已经开始了次世代的新游戏开发。日前在西雅图的2013PAX展上该工作室透露目前正在为次世代平台开发两款全新的游戏。

  目前来自外媒的猜测,Gearbox所说的这两款游戏其中之一极有可能是《兄弟连:狂暴4(Brothers In Arms: Furious 4)》,去年Gearbox便是在PAX展会上公布的该系列作品。而另一款游戏目前还沒有猜测的头绪,它很有可能是《无主之地3》,当然也有可能是一款全新作品。

  另外,Gearbox老板Randy Pitchford也向媒体暗示了将在公司的社区日(Gearbox Community Day),即今年9月14日,在美国德州举办的活动上为玩家送出其中一款游戏的BETA试玩版。他也表示了无法出席该活动但卻仍想获得BETA版的玩家们可购买数字版礼包(Digital Bonus Pack),标价为$19.99美元。该礼包里附有了未来Gearbox次世代游戏的BETA版、Borderlands 2的头像和额外的皮肤內容、家园高清版(Homeworld HD)和家园原版(Homeworld Classic)游戏的下载密码等。

Gearbox正在为次世代主机制作两个全新游戏系列

  《无主之地》的开发者Gearbox Software近日在Pax展台上宣布,他们正在为次世代主机制作两个全新的游戏系列。

  目前可以确定的是其中一个就是改版的《战火兄弟连(Brother in ARMS)》,因为工作室去年就透露可能会对这个系列重制成为新的系列。另外一个新系列目前为止还没有任何消息。

  两个新系列中的一个将会为购买了Gearbox2013社区日套票的玩家提供抢先试玩。这个套票是当时社区日的时候让玩家可以在推特上眼红的看着工作室聚会用的。。。不过仍然可以在2014年初发售《家园》1和2的HD版本时免费获得这两款游戏。

  从现在的情况看来Gearbox未公布新系列肯定需要等待一段时间才会初显真容,因为工作室目前正在努力的制作《无主之地2》的DLC等。事实上,明天新的《无主之地2》DLC就会发售,让等级上限提高到72级。

  随后在10月份,Gearbox将会发售“猎头人扩展包”。这个扩展包将包括新的任务和原始游戏中的僵尸T.K Baha。

疯狂而且暴力 《兄弟连:狂暴四侠》公布新视频

一名参与《兄弟连:狂暴四侠》游戏制作的FX效果师公布了一段展示视频。

视频中我们看到了一个四人小队破门而入,闯进一家坐满了纳粹军官的酒馆,然后展示了一系列第一人称蒙太奇场景,其中有火箭喷气背包,直升机和许多爆炸。

今年二月份,Gearbox CEO Randy Pichford说,《狂暴》些列作品最开始是作为《兄弟连》副标题出现的,但后来演变出了自己的系列。今年早些时候还没有哪家发行商接手《兄弟连:狂暴四侠》。

高级FX效果师Nick Peterson在自己的LinkedIn简历中透露:“《兄弟连:狂暴四侠》是一款暴力的FPS,将为玩家提供紧张刺激的剧情模式,可支持4玩家合作闯关,同时也有竞技对战模式。故事剧情讲述了4名凶猛暴力的士兵深入敌后刺杀元首的故事。玩家将在《兄弟连:狂暴四侠》中扮演这4名士兵之一,使用特制武器和特殊能力出奇制胜,对抗世界上最大的威胁:第三帝国秘密试验中的纳粹军队”

   


无主之地2新DLC放缓 或因Gearbox忙于家园新作

随着Gearbox投入到新作(应该是《家园》新作!)的制作中,他们放缓了《无主之地2》DLC的进程。CEO,Randy Pitchford已经透露他们“仍在为《无主之地2》制作新东西”,但“我不能说会有另一个季票推出”。

Pitchford 告诉外媒:“我们制作了比季票一更多的内容,但如果你在期望和季票一中相同的数量,我们恐怕要让你失望了。这次增加的东西不会有上次那么大的规模,所以价钱上也会降低。更多内容,更低价格,超值优惠。”

“我们仍在为《无主2》制作新内容,但我们也在为未来制作新东西,”他说,“我们在为次代主机制作新游戏,我们正创造一些新IP,我们还有许多《无主之地2》之外的事情要做。”

“我不能说会另一个季票推出。新推出的DLC在数量上没有那么多,但在内容上更加丰富精彩,也更加超值。我不希望以后听到有人问‘为什么没有像之前一样的季票推出?’”

“将来可能会有,但我现在只能看到我们手头上的事情。”

如果是因为《家园》新作而放缓《无主之地2》新DLC的话,我们表示可以忍受。

Gearbox Software Reveals First Tantalizing Footage of Homeworld Remastered Collection; Game Launches February 25

Amid its large-scale presence at the PAX South gaming convention in San Antonio, independent developer Gearbox Software offered a glimpse of Homeworld Remastered Collection, the long-awaited, ultra high-definition remastering of the acclaimed strategy series. The Texas-based developer also announced that the game will be released for PC on February 25, 2015 (yes, just a month away) with pre-orders open now on Steam for $34.99 -- currently just $29.74 with a 15% pre-order discount.

Homeworld Remastered Collection updates and introduces the landmark space strategy games to modern audiences. The collection includes Homeworld and Homeworld 2, painstakingly remastered by Gearbox in cooperation with key members of the original development team and members of the series’ passionate fan community. As a free bonus, this collection also includes the original versions of Homeworld and Homeworld 2 with compatibility updates, preserving the purest form of the original releases. Anyone who purchases Homeworld Remastered Collection will also receive free access to the Homeworld Remastered Steam Multiplayer Beta when the collection releases on February 25, 2015.

The Homeworld series has a long legacy and is regarded by many as one of the best strategy series of all time. Following its release in 1999 by publisher Sierra and developer Relic Entertainment, Homeworld received several Game of the Year awards and redefined the RTS genre. Its sequel, Homeworld 2, launched in 2003, and was similarly praised by critics for its innovative controls and changes to multiplayer. The first-ever gameplay footage – shown this weekend to a packed room at the Henry B. This beta combines code from over 15 years ago with newly-written changes, and will be shaped by fan feedback as development progresses.

Titled “Homeworld Shipbreakers,” the upcoming strategy game takes place before the events of the first Homeworld and serves as a prequel to the series. 3D Realms & Gearbox end Duke Nukem legal battle, Gearbox owns the franchise



Joint Statement by 3DR, Interceptor and Gearbox

Gearbox Software, 3D Realms and Interceptor Entertainment have resolved their differences; the parties have voluntarily ended all litigation between them.

From Mike Nielsen (3D Realms CEO): “When Interceptor acquired a license to develop ‘Duke Nukem Mass Destruction’ (‘Duke Nukem Survivor’) from 3D Realms, we did so in good faith and were not aware of any conflict. We never intended to cause any harm to Gearbox or Duke, which is why we immediately ceased development after Gearbox reached out. To secure the future of Duke, 3D Realms has agreed with Gearbox that a single home serves the IP best. And as big Duke fans, we’re excited to see what Gearbox has in store for the ‘King.’ As for our own games, we’re eager to complete development of the ‘Bombshell’ game and get it in the hands of our fans.”

Statement by Frederik Schreiber

I’m really happy that the lawsuit between Gearbox, 3DR, and Interceptor has come to an end. Right now, I, along with my Interceptor colleagues, are busy making the finishing touches on “Bombshell.” We can’t wait until you guys can play it!

Now that the lawsuit is over, I’d like to say a few things about my history with Gearbox, and hopefully clear some things up. I’ve been a huge Duke fan for many years, and the original Duke Nukem 3D was a big influence on me and my career in this industry that I love.

I want to express my deepest gratitude to Gearbox for allowing me to work on Duke Nukem Reloaded. I decided to cease production of Reloaded in 2011 to establish Interceptor and work on Rise of the Triad.

I want to make it clear now, once and for all – It was my own decision to pull the plug on Duke Nukem Reloaded, even though we were fully allowed to continue development. I respect Gearbox for supporting a young developer, and I’m glad we can now put this behind us.

I look forward to completing development on “Bombshell” and—as a long-time fan of Duke—I’m excited to see what Gearbox has in store for the ‘King’!

Statement by Gearbox

Gearbox Software has voluntarily ended its litigation against Interceptor Entertainment and 3D Realms, and wishes to keep the terms of its settlement confidential except to confirm that Gearbox Software is the full and rightful owner of the Duke Nukem franchise.

Gearbox Software appreciates the sentiments from Interceptor and 3D Realms' representatives. Gearbox Software President Randy Pitchford said, “I genuinely appreciate Mr. Nielsen’s and Mr. Schreiber’s statement and sincerely offer my best wishes to Interceptor Entertainment and 3D Realms towards their future success and, as someone who was part of the 3D Realms team when Bombshell was first imagined, I am excited to see what they have in store for us with their game.
