Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue Coming to the PlayStation 4 System

Square Enix and Disney Interactive today revealed that development has begun on Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue, a compilation that brings the popular Kingdom Hearts [Dream Drop Distance] to the PlayStation 4 computer entertainment system platform remastered in high definition.

Originally released in 2012, Kingdom Hearts [Dream Drop Distance] HD is a full-HD remastered version of Kingdom Hearts 3D [Dream Drop Distance]. Series protagonists Sora and Riku take on the Mark of Mastery exam in preparation for coming threats. The signature action of the Kingdom Hearts series has evolved, allowing players to experience faster-paced battles and exploration at a blistering pace.

This newly remastered title also features:

• Kingdom Hearts 0.2 Birth by Sleep – A Fragmentary Passage –

A completely new playable episode that links to the story of Kingdom Hearts III, taking place after the storyline of Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep played from the perspective of Aqua.

• Kingdom Hearts χ [chi] Back Cover (movie)

A new HD movie that tells the mysterious story of the Foretellers, connecting the earliest parts of the series’ history, showcased in the upcoming mobile title Kingdom Hearts Unchained χ[chi].

Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue is being developed for the PlayStation 4 system.

　　在日本亚洲索尼计算机娱乐（SCEJA）今（15）日下午举办针对日本地区的媒体发表会中，SQUARE ENIX 正式发表了《王国之心》系列的 PS4 新作《王国之心 HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue》，将收录HD Remaster 版的《王国之心 Dream Drop Distance HD》、完全新作 HD 剧场《王国之心 χ Back Cover》，以及完全新作短篇故事《王国之心 0.2 梦中降生 -A Fragmentary Passage-》。

Experience Six Unforgettable Kingdom Hearts Adventures in One HD Compilation Today

Square Enix and Disney are celebrating 15 years of magical Kingdom Hearts adventures with today’s release of Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 + 2.5 ReMIX. The new HD collection is the first time six chapters from the beloved series will be available for the PlayStation 4 computer entertainment system.

In Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 + 2.5 ReMIX, fans will join Sora, Donald, Goofy and other familiar Disney characters as they voyage through Disney worlds to stop the Heartless invasion and save the Kingdom Hearts universe from darkness. Keyblade wielders will befriend and enlist beloved Disney and Final Fantasy characters to help light overcome the darkness.

A new trailer showcasing the timeless characters, unforgettable villains and the colorful Disney worlds was released today. The “Familiar Faces and Places” trailer is available on YouTube.

Fans can prepare for the highly anticipated release of Kingdom Hearts III by experiencing the entire series with Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 + 2.5 ReMIX and the recently released Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue on the PlayStation 4 system. Fans can also uncover the mysteries on how the series began with the upcoming release of Kingdom Hearts Union χ [Cross] for iOS and Android devices. Kingdom Hearts Union χ [Cross] is the relaunch of the critically acclaimed mobile RPG formerly known as Kingdom Hearts Unchained χ.

March 28 is the 15th anniversary of Kingdom Hearts. The first Kingdom Hearts launched for PlayStation 2 in Japan on March 28, 2002.

Square Enix has released a new trailer for Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 + 2.5 Remix ahead of its western release next week dubbed “Fight the Darkness.”

Kingdom Hearts: Union χ Announced as Relaunch of Critically Acclaimed Mobile Game

Fans will soon be able to learn more about the Kingdom Hearts history with the upcoming release of Kingdom Hearts Union χ[Cross], the relaunch of the critically acclaimed mobile RPG formerly known as Kingdom Hearts Unchained χ. As part of the free update next month, the game will soon have a new “Union Cross” multiplayer mode and more ways to customize the player’s avatar.

With Kingdom Hearts Union χ[Cross], players can create teams of six from their party members or through a matchmaking feature to fight hordes of Heartless enemies and powerful bosses. Players can also take on quests of increasing difficulty as well as unique new missions. To help these teams of friends communicate with each other, the game will now include emotes and text bubbles. Players will encounter both familiar and new faces as the story of the Unions continues to unfold, and the new “Theater Mode” will allow players to relive the drama and rewatch cutscenes.



Fans can pre-register for the update on the official website to obtain exclusive smartphone wallpapers and in-game rewards. To commemorate the relaunch and the one-year anniversary of the original app release, players will also receive in-game presents by logging in after the update.

Fans are also invited to stop by the Square Enix booth (#11017) at PAX East to be among the first in the world to get their hands on this exciting new chapter of the Kingdom Hearts story and for a chance to receive special buttons and a poster featuring the artwork of Tetsuya Nomura, while supplies last.

New screenshots of Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 + 2.5 Remix, published on the game’s official PlayStation Japan page, reveal the collection’s new title selection screen, which shows all six titles on a single disc.
