Metro dev 4A Games to open new studio in Malta

　　日前《地铁 | Metro》系列的开发商4A Games宣布他们计划在马耳他开设一家全新的工作室，而且这间工作室将会成为他们的新总部。

　　该公司现有的工作室将在乌克兰首都基辅继续运作，不过包括创意总监、联合创始人Andrew Prokhorov和首席技术官Oles Shishkovstov在内的大量核心成员将会迁往马耳他。

　　“这标志着4A Games新篇章的开始。我们为这个年轻工作室去的的成就感到自豪，并因为我们至今得到的回馈感到责任重大。我们的团队继续期待着新的冒险。”

4A Games Announce Plans to Open a New Studio in Malta

Celebrated Ukrainian studio 4A Games (creators of the multi-million selling Metro 2033 and Metro: Last Light) are planning to expand their AAA development capabilities by opening a new studio in Malta, making this their new headquarters. The existing studio will continue to operate in Kiev, Ukraine.

"By basing our new headquarters in Malta, a member state of the EU, 4A Games will be able to better compete on the international stage" said Dean Sharpe, who now joins the board of 4A Games as CEO and Head of Business Development. "Malta offers fantastic incentives for game development, and we are confident 4A Games will be able to attract the very best talent from Ukraine, Malta and beyond."

Key members of the Kiev office, including Creative Director and Co-Founder Andrew Prokhorov, and Chief Technical Officer Oles Shishkovstov, will relocate to Malta, and 4A Games will continue to recruit the very best talent in both Malta and Ukraine as their operations expand.

"This marks the start of a new chapter for 4A Games," said Andrew Prokhorov. "We are proud of our achievements as a young studio, and humbled by the response to our output so far. The team is looking forward to this new adventure."

4A Games are renowned for Metro 2033 and its sequel, Metro: Last Light, based on the novels by Dmitry Glukhovsky. The studio continues to work on un-announced titles within the Metro universe as well as further, un-announced projects, powered by their cutting edge proprietary tech, the 4A Engine.

　　《地铁》系列新作就要来了！据《地铁2035》小说的官方网站显示，《地铁》系列游戏新作将于2017年推出。

　　《地铁》游戏是根据俄罗斯作家 Dmitry Glukhovsky 所著的小说改编，系列第一部小说《地铁2033》于2007年面世，续作《地铁2034》在 2009 年推出，而三部曲最终章《地铁2035》则即将于12 月 10 日上市。

　　在官网首页的时间线上，Glukhovsky 标注了“下一部《地铁》游戏”将于2017 年推出，并配有一段文字，在小说剧情的结尾，游戏将会延续，一个拥有伟大发现的时代就在前方……

Update: Next Metro game *not* coming in 2017
官方否认明年会有《地铁》新作 究竟续作要待何时？

　　昨日，我们根据《地铁（Metro）》官方小说的网站爆料，发现了这款经典射击游戏将在明年发售一款游戏续作。但不幸的是，此消息并不属实。　

　　根据随后游戏开发商Deep Silver在脸书上的声明，我们得知，目前他们并没有计划在明年推出游戏续作。

　　在相关的声明中，游戏开发商Deep Silver表示：“作为唯一拥有这款背景设定在《地铁2033》世界观下的游戏续作的开发商，Deep Silver对开发一款成功的续作有非常宏大的愿景。但是为了平息粉丝们的期望——在2017年我们并非要发布地铁系列续作。接下来我们会公布更多的消息。”另外，在之前游戏官方小说的网站上，相关游戏的说明现已被撤下。

　　以上的这些现象，也就正式否认了之前的传闻。另外，究竟Deep Silver未来将带给我们关于续作的哪些消息，我们也将持续关注。

《地铁》新作或在E3公布 开放世界设定画质提升

　　最近《地铁》系列的开发商4A Games在国外游戏论坛Gameinator上回复了一名粉丝的问题。当时有人问到4A Games是否会参展E3 2016，一名ID为Sub的4A Games开发人员回复说：“我们会的”。

　　4A Games开发的《地铁》系列属于那种叫好不叫座的游戏，游戏确实是好游戏，不管是游戏画面，游戏剧情还是氛围环境营造都很优秀，但与传统3A大作相比，它的销量就有点难看了。

　　据外媒报道，4A Games开发的《地铁》在国外遇到的主要吐槽点是两个游戏过于线性，而非开放世界。有趣的是，在他们的新作中，4A Games可能会修复这个问题。

　　在《地铁：归来》发售前，Eurogamer曾对CEO Oles Shishkovstov做过采访，当时CEO表示：“除了归来外，我们也在开发一个新的游戏。目前新作处于开发早期。对于这个新作，我们的设计师们已经转向一个比较沙盒式的游戏体验，尽管线性很少了，但游戏剧情仍然很足。另外我们也从各个方面提升游戏画质，比如最近我们做了一个物理全局环境光遮蔽。”

Metro Redux Release Date Confirmed!

Deep Silver today confirms that Metro Redux will hit stores on the 26th August in the US, and the 29th August in Europe.

The boxed copy of Metro Redux contains remastered versions of both Metro 2033 andMetro: Last Light, with all previously released add-on content. Both campaigns can be tackled in 'Spartan' or 'Survival' play styles, and the legendary Ranger Mode is also included in both games. Metro 2033 Redux and Metro: Last Light Redux are also available separately as digital download only.

Return to Post-Apocalytic Moscow With Metro Redux

4A Games and Deep Silver are bringing the iconic Metro series to the next generation. Metro Redux features fully re-mastered and improved versions of both Metro 2033 and Metro: Last Light, creating the most compelling Metro experience ever.

With re-worked next-gen visuals, smooth 60FPS gameplay on console, as well as new and improved content and features, Metro Redux is much more than a simple HD upgrade.

For the Redux edition, Metro 2033 has been completely overhauled:

• The original game has been rebuilt in the latest and greatest iteration of the 4A Engine, bringing all the graphical and gameplay improvements from Last Light to Metro 2033 Redux

• Enjoy completely re-mastered visuals: advanced lighting, dynamic weather, more detailed characters with improved animation, more dynamic destruction and improved smoke, fire and particle effects

• Experience radically improved gameplay: advanced enemy AI, improved combat and stealth mechanics, superior weapon handling and more responsive, intuitive controls plus signature features from Last Light such as the atmospheric ‘mask wipe’ mechanic, weapon customisation, and silent kills and take-downs

Metro: Last Light has also received a graphical face-lift and gameplay improvements that carry across both titles, including new melee animations, and the fan requested ‘Check Watch’ and ‘Check Inventory’ features. It also includes all previously released Season Pass add-on content – a further 10 hours of single-player gameplay.

With Metro Redux, players now have the choice to experience both Metro games the way they want with the introduction of two unique ‘Play Styles.’

Those who favoured the more survival horror oriented gameplay of Metro 2033 can play both campaigns in the ‘Survival’ Play Style, a fraught slow-burn fight for survival with limited resources, deadlier enemy AI, and slower reload speeds. Those who enjoyed the more action oriented gameplay of Metro: Last Light can try the ‘Spartan’ Play Style, providing Artyom with a powerful set of combat skills and more plentiful resources.

In addition, the legendary Ranger Mode returns to both games, providing the most immersive and challenging experience as the HUD is stripped away and hardcore rules apply.

Upon release, Metro 2033 Redux and Metro: Last Light Redux will each be available separately as a digital download for Xbox One, the all-in-one games and entertainment system from Microsoft, PlayStation 4 computer entertainment system and PC a suggested $24.99 /  Eur19.99 / ￡15.99.

Alongside the digital release, a boxed compilation containing both games, titled Metro Redux will be available at retail for a suggested $49.99 / Eur39.99 / ￡34.99.

Metro 2033 Redux, Metro: Last Light Redux and the compilation Metro Redux are scheduled for release this Summer for Xbox One, PlayStation, and Windows PC.

Dedicated Linux and SteamOS versions will also release later this year.
