关于英文语法的问题，高人请进！

小女是今年PMR考生，今天当我在做英文练习（Longman出版）的时候，发现了几题有矛盾的地方。
请各位大大帮我解答

Practice 8
8. None of the taxis are available when you need them.

Practice 9
4. None of the girls has the answer to the Mathematics problem.

划线的字是练习所提供的答案，我以为我眼花，所以多看了几下，但是答案真的是这样没错。
我觉得很疑惑，所以上来问大家。

Practice 8
5. The salesman are trying to presuade her to buy the set of knives
salesman后面没有-s，不过，为什么答案是are呢？
或者salesman是special case？

还有，我想请问，can后面的字一定是要original word吗？
因为有一题的题目是：
He has to complete the first chapter before he can do the next.

关于Modul Word，我知道有分present和past，可是我发现有些present的句子却用past的modul word。
modul word是什么情况都适用的吗？

因为我的英文水平一般般，请大家多多指教啊

salesman 可以代表一个，也可以代表多个
好像 you， parent，都是用 are
parent = 父母 （两个）没有parents 的。

这个do不是在he的之后，所以使用do。。 不会解释～
不过你读两个，do 和 does，哪一个比较顺？ do right?

如果考试出salesman的话，考生不就伤脑筋

   嗯。。你要慢慢思考哦。。

至于第二个，是看He 之后的了。He "has" or "have".. 可是这是can，所以do不用改的～ either do or done~

其实最上面那两题两个都是对的
none of + a plural word你可以用singular或plural verb
不过plural verb是比较多人用的~

none of 可以加复数名词（none of the children) 或不可数名词 (none of the money)
而 none of + 复数名词 之后，可以使用单数或复数动词：
None of the taxi is 或 None of the taxis are 都正确；
None of the girls has 或 None of the girls have 都正确。
但是，正式文书中应该使用单数的动词如 is, has, does 等等。

salesman是单数名词，复数是salesmen；
显然的，The salesman are 是错误的；应该是 The salesman is 才对。
为什么你那么肯定书上印出来的东西就一定是正确的？

英语没有所谓的 original word; 原型动词可称为 base form verb 或 bare infinitive
can, could, will, would, may, might, must, shall, should 等等都是一种情态助动词 Modal Auxiliary
这些助动词必须和原型动词搭配使用：
can do; could see; will go; would have; may come; might rain; must have; shall call; should leave 等等

关于Modul Word，我知道有分present和past，可是我发现有些present的句子却用past的modul word。
