厄斯瑞受访时指，「他们都是神派来的天使，出现在正確的时间和地点。我和我的家人都欠了他们一条命。没有他们，我们现在不会站在这里。」（These people were God’s angels that were in the right place at the right time. I owe my life and my family’s life to them. Without them, we wouldn’t be here.）
而洁茜卡则回忆当时她告诉自己：「这些人今天绝对不会溺死。绝对不会，我们要帮他们脱离困境。」（These people are not drowning today,.......It’s not happening. We are going to get them out.）
