Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and DC Entertainment today announced Injustice 2, the super-powered sequel to the hit game Injustice: Gods Among Us. The newest game in development from the award-winning NetherRealm Studios features a massive roster of DC Super Heroes and Super-Villains and allows players to build and power up the ultimate version of their favourite DC characters. Injustice 2 will be available for the PlayStation 4 computer entertainment system and Xbox One in 2017.

Wonder Woman
Just in time for her 75th anniversary, Wonder Woman makes her return to the Injustice franchise. In the first Injustice game, Wonder Woman’s character power gave her the ability to switch between her Sword & Shield attacks and her Lasso of Truth. In Injustice 2, she is no longer limited to when she can use her Amazonian weaponry.
Now, Wonder Woman brings the whole arsenal. Combining her long range Lasso attacks with quick hitting sword combos makes her an even more powerful brawler than before. And while she is at her best dealing damage up close, her Shield Toss and the ability to reflect fireballs with her Bracelets of Submission means she is no slouch from afar.
Her new character power has her gain blessings from the Greek Gods which enhance her combat capabilities in a variety of ways. For example, Hermes can enhance her mobility and give her the ability to air dash.
Blue Beetle
The other new character we are proud to announce is a character fans have been asking for since the first Injustice. Blue Beetle makes his debut in Injustice 2. His alien technology allows him to form various gadgets and weapons for his power suit that make him a well-rounded, Jack of All Trades type character that can be effective up close and from afar.
Blue Beetle’s hands can turn into shields, blades, and clubs for punishing close range combos, and he can attack from a distance by turning his hand into an energy cannon that fires quick blasts from the ground or air. He can also use the wings on his back for air mobility, both to advance or escape from the opponent.
His unique character power allows him to transform his arms into long razor sharp blades that enhance his range and effectiveness up close but at a price: while his blades are active he can no longer use his fireballs. And his supermove is incredible. Blue Beetle cycles through many different weapons before finishing off his opponents with a powerful series of energy blasts. We can’t wait to see what players can do with Blue Beetle when they finally get their hands on him.

Source Crystals are a new type of currency available in Injustice 2 that are used to purchase cosmetic features for characters. Source Crystals can be purchased using real money but aren’t required to progress or advance in the game and can’t be used to purchase Gear or an advantage in gameplay. We value our community and want to be clear – you cannot “pay to win” with Injustice 2.
Source Crystals can only be used to purchase cosmetic adjustments to your fighters, Premiere character Skins with no gameplay advantage, and various Shaders for character costumes.
You can also Transform Gear with Source Crystals. Transform Gear allows you to apply the visuals of one piece of Gear to another piece. For example, if you have a piece of Gear with your perfect stat loadout but it doesn’t have your perfect look, you can apply the visuals from one of your other pieces of Gear to it. After using Transform Gear, your Gear piece will have your preferred stats matched with your preferred visuals.
Source Crystals offer more opportunities to customize your fighters that won’t affect gameplay or game progression. The cosmetic adjustments to your characters are for you own personal preference of how you want your fighters to look, and can add details to your characters overall appearance.
Character Shaders offer a wide range of color combinations for your character Gear. Premiere Skins will change your character’s look from top to bottom. For example, you can change Supergirl into Powergirl, but the power and stats of the character are still based on Gear equipment that you’ve earned through playing the game. The Premiere Skin change is only visual.
Source Crystals can help you save time in the game. For example, once you level a character up to Level 20, you can use Source Crystals to level up other characters to 20. This is optional and won’t affect gameplay or game progression.
Source Crystals can be purchased in the PlayStation and Xbox One Stores.

• What are Source Crystals and how do I earn them?
Source Crystals are in-game currency that can be purchased for real money through the PSN and Xbox One stores. They’re used to purchase visuals or time savers for the game only.
• What can I get with Source Crystals?
You can purchase Premiere Skins for select characters, Shaders for character costumes, and the ability to take a character to level 20 after you’ve leveled up a character to 20 prior. You can also unlock Transform Gear with Source Crystals allowing you to combine and forge Gear for your characters.

Players will be able to battle it out with these iconic fighters from the DC and Mortal Kombat Universes and utilise their unique moves and skill sets when they purchase the Injustice 2 Deluxe Edition or Injustice™ Ultimate Edition. The video gives players a closer look at the game’s Story Mode and the variety of Super Hero and Super-Villain alliances at play, including factions led by the Dark Knight, Gorilla Grodd, and others, along with wild card characters like Supergirl and Swamp Thing.
Players will also get an introduction to the brand new social experience that Injustice 2 is bringing to the fighting game scene. In the game, players will be able to form a guild with up to 50 other players to share gear and build their own team of Super Heroes. They’ll also earn gear and other rewards that are exclusive to guild gameplay in daily and weekly cooperative objectives as they collaborate with friends to climb the worldwide leaderboards.

Fighter Pack 2 will be available for purchase on September 12, and the first character will be available for early access on the same day. Players who have purchased the Injustice 2 Ultimate Edition, the Injustice 2 Ultimate Pack, or the Injustice 2 Fighter Pack #2 will have early access to each of the three new fighters from the DC, Dark Horse and Mortal Kombat universes before they are available individually.

Warner Bros. will release Injustice 2 for PC via Steam and the Windows Store this fall, the publisher announced.
