SNK Playmore Corporation is proud to announce the change of its name to “SNK Corporation” from December 1st, 2016.
SNK Playmore changed its company logo and slogan on April 25th, 2016 with the goal of marking its return to SNK’s rich gaming history. The official change of the company name to SNK Corporation, which takes effect from December 1st, 2016, furthers this goal by expanding SNK’s brand name worldwide, and enhancing its corporate value.
This change of corporation name to “SNK”, and slogan to “The Future Is Now” marks a return to SNK’s glorious gaming history. SNK has announced The King of Fighters: World, a persistent online RPG coming exclusively to iOS and Android. It will launch first in China in summer 2017. After that, it will launch sequentially worldwide.
The first massively multiplayer online RPG in the King of Fighters series, The King of Fighters: World is being developed on a wholly 3D engine, and players will advance the game on a 3D CG panoramic map. Popular characters from across the King of Fighters series will appear, and through battles and puzzle-solving, players will be able to enjoy a deep, The King of Fighters story. In short, The King of Fighters: World is described as a new King of Fighters where you can freely experience the world of the franchise.

SNK will debut new hardware that features a collection of popular Neo Geo titles as part of its 40th anniversary celebration, the company announced.
“This year, SNK celebrates its 40th anniversary,” the company said in a tweet. “It is with gratitude towards the fans who have supported SNK’s titles, including The King of Fighters, Fatal Fury, Samurai Shodown, and Metal Slug, that we introduce a new game machine that compiles the popular titles of Neo Geo! Please look forward to it. The Future is Now!”

The Neo Geo mini, a video game console celebrating the 40th Anniversary of SNK’s brand is announced!
The Neo Geo mini is a video game console, which will include 40 nostalgic titles from the Neo Geo system, which made its debut in 1990. This console will feature a 3.5 inches display, meaning the games can be enjoyed with no need to connect to a TV or monitor! The size of the Neo Geo mini means it fits perfectly in the palm of one’s hand. The Neo Geo mini will be available in two different designs, one for the Asian market and the other one for overseas markets (for North America, South America, Europe and other regions). With its design in black, white, and red, the Japanese version of the Neo Geo mini will faithfully reproduce the original Neo Geo arcade cabinet that was introduced in Japan in 1990. Shoot-em-ups were all the rage in ’80s, and in 1986, SNK launched Ikari Warriors, a game that took guerrilla carnage to a new level of lunacy! In this game, the player assumed the roles of two muscly men named Ralf Jones and Clark Steel (King of Fighters, anyone?), who were blasting and mowing down enemy forces in a South American jungle to save their commanding officer.
After the success of Ikari Warriors, there were two more entries in the series that took Ralf and Clark on further adventures, Victory Road (1988) and Ikari III: The Rescue (1990). Each of these titles brought a unique focus to the gameplay. Victory Road focused on the use of guns and explosives, while Ikari III: The Rescue brought more attention to hand-to-hand combat.

In SNK Heroines: Tag Team Frenzy, players will be able to use the items and costumes obtained through playing the game to freely customize their heroines. In addition to the actual customizing, the video also shows the customized characters in battle.

SNK has launched a teaser website titled “New SNK Game Announcement” featuring the text “A New Dawn Rises” and a countdown ending on September 10 at 19:00 JST.
The website will update 30 minutes into the hour-long PlayStation Lineup Tour video live show, which will act as Sony Interactive Entertainment Japan Asia’s pre-Tokyo Game Show 2018 presentation, that starts at 18:30 JST on the same day,.
