This course is aimed at students who are interested in exploring and understanding the process of interior design – either for their own purposes or for exploring interior design as a possible career option. By experiencing the combined teaching methods of lectures and practical studio work, the student will gain a basic understanding of: how to design and plan a space; produce plans and elevations; explore colour, lighting and furniture in the interior; how to develop a suitable palette of materials and finishes; how to source furniture and materials; basic presentation techniques.
