问题：A class consists of 8 males and x female students.If the probability of 2 randomly chosen male students is 28/33 ,calculate the value of x.

请问这题怎么做？？求高人解答..谢谢！答案是：4

如果答案是4，问题里the probability of 2 randomly chosen male students is 28/33 就错了，是14/33 才对

还有一题：In a geometric progression, the sum of the first 5 terms is 248 and the sum of the next 5 terms is 7/3/4.Find the common ratio and the first term. ans:r=1/2 a=128

S (first 5) =248
a+ ar + ar^2 +ar^3+ ar^4 = 248 <-------- (1)

S( next 5) = 7 / 3/4
ar^5 + ar^ 6+ ar^7 + ar^8 + ar^9 = 7/3/4 <---------(2)

(1) and (2) 有什么差别？就差 r^5 , 所以 (1)  就 X r^ 5
变成
ar^5 + ar^ 6+ ar^7 + ar^8 + ar^9 =248 r^5 <---------- (3)

(3) - (2)                      0= 248 r^5 - 7/3/4
                                 7/3/4 = 248 r^5
                                 1/32 = r^5
                                       r= 1 /2

把 r=1/2 丢回进（1）就会得到 a = 128

怎么得到Tn= 2^(8-n)的？我算到的是1/2^(-8+n)..

你要按回复，我才知道你问我。。。其实你只差一步而已。

1/2 = 2^ (-1)

所以
Tn = 1/2^(-8+n)
= 2 ^ (-1)(-8+n)
=2^ (8-n)

DB=4a-3b
AC=4a+9/2b
DF=4/3a-3/2b

问题：Given that FE=hAC and DF=kDB,calculate the values of h and k.

就这样吧，

根据题目 FE=hAC  and DF=kDB ，然后再看图，你会发现 FE+DF = DE

所以 hAC+ kDB = DE <-------- (1)
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
题目给你 DE =3/4 AB    和    AB=4a

那       DE=（3/4）（4a)
               =  3a

之前你已经找到 AC =4a + 9b /2 和  DB =4a-3b  , DE 现在也有了，就丢回进（1）
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

h( 4a+ 9b/2) + k (4a-3b) = 3a
(4h) a +  (9h/2) b + (4k)a  - (3k) b  = 3 a
然后把 a 跟 b 分类，因为a 跟 b 是方向来的
所以就 ( 4h+4k)a + ( 9h/2 - 3k) b = 3a

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

既然左边=右边  ，那COMPARE BOTH SIDE：
(4h+4k ) a = 3a                                                                                                             (9h/2 -3k) b = 0b
4h+4k =3    <-------------------- (2)                                                                               9h/2  -3k =0
                                                                                                                                          k= 3h /2          <-------------(3)

Sub (3) into (2)
4h + 4( 3h/2)=3
10h=3
h=3/10

最后把h=3/10 丢进 (3)
k= 9/20

Given the cosθ=-q and θ is a reflex angle.State each of the following in terms of q.

Find tan 2θ.

像这个题目tan 2θ是用2 tan x / （1-tan^2 x) 这个formula吗？

它的答案是2q√(1-q^2) / ( 2q^2-1) ,我算到的是2√(1-q^2) / (q-√(1-q^2))。。。

从题目来看， cosθ=-q and θ is a reflex angle 就是说θ 大过180度，就在THIRD QUADRANT
画个三角形在THIRD QUADRANT
cos θ = A /  H
A= -q
H=1
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
tan 2 θ=  2 tan  θx / （1-tan^2  θ)  用这个没错。

所以要找tan  θ
tan θ=  O / A
A=q <-------- 为什么 A=q 不是 A=-q ? 因为THIRD QUADRANT 里 tan 是 positive 的.
O= ?

用pythagoras theorem , O =  √ (H^2 -  A^2)
                                             =√ ( 1 - q^2)

So , tan θ = √ ( 1 - q^2)  / (-q)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
放进 tan 2 θ=  2 tan x / （1-tan^2 x)

tan 2 θ=  2 tan θ / （1-tan^2 θ)
         = 2  √ ( 1 - q^2)  / (q) /    （1- (√ ( 1 - q^2)  / (-q) ) ^2 )
         = 2  √ ( 1 - q^2)  / (q) /       (1 - (1-q^2) / q^2)  )
         = 2  √ ( 1 - q^2)  / (q) /       ( q^ 2 - (1 - q^2)  )  / q^2
            = 2  √ ( 1 - q^2)  / (q) / ( 2q^2 -1 / q^2)
            =  2 q √ ( 1 - q^2)  / ( 2q^2 - 1)

请问一下这题。。

GIven that y =2x^3-15.Calculate the rate of change of x if y decreases from 1 to 0.8 within 1 second.

dy/dx=6x^2                            dy/dt=0.8-1             dy/dt=dy/dx X dx/dt
      =6(1)^2                                  =-0.2             -0.2=6 x dx/dt
      =6                                                                   dx/dt= -0.033

书上给的答案是dx/dt= -1/120.....请问我哪里做错了？

      =6(1)^2       <------------ 谁叫你放 x=1 ? x 是原本的，新的 x 会跟着 y 的变化而变
      =6
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
所以 when y=0.8  , 0.8 = 2( x)^3  - 15
                                 x^3= 7.9
                                       x =1.9916
                                       x = 2
  dy/dx = 6(2)^2
         = 24

接下来的，你跟着你之前做的，改VALUE 放进去就对了，我懒惰
