in which 怎么用啊?which 和in which 区别?

例子:i live in a city in which i work ..... 改成where

in which和which的意思有差
in which是比较formal的用法

which,就是refer to object

照你这样说,那where 就不等于 in which 咯,因为where 只是refer to object 啊。。。。

    no,where不是只是refer to object
where也可以refer to context

This is hotel, which is a place for overnight.
This is hotel, in which he lives.
This is hotel, where he lives.

so where=in which, but where is not as formal as in which
thus, in which is more preferable

Which city do you live in? : 问which city 需要用 in
因为你只可以 live in the city, 不可以 live the city,所以不可以没有 in

Where do you live? : 问where 则不需要 in

The city in which I live is beautiful. 或者 The city which I live in is beautiful. (需要 in)

Do you know where he lives? Do you know where he lives in? (不需要 in)

[The other reason you might want to use “which” is to avoid using a preposition at the end of a sentence, which is considered informal (3). For example, the sentence “This is the desk in which the papers are stored” is probably more appropriate to say in a formal setting than its informal counterpart: “This is the desk that the papers are stored in.” Some sticklers might object to that informal sentence. However, if you are talking informally, it is fine to end a sentence with a preposition or to use “where” instead of “in which,” as here: “This is the desk where the papers are stored.” However, if you are talking informally, it is fine to end a sentence with a preposition or to use “where” instead of “in which,” as here: “This is the desk where the papers are stored.”

When to Use “Where”

Think back to the puppy sentence we said at the beginning. You probably wouldn’t say “the pound at which” to a friend in normal conversation. You would most likely say, “The pound where I found Spot was on State Street.” You might also find yourself saying, “I found Spot at the State Street pound,” bypassing the “which” or “where” conundrum altogether.] Quoted from "Where" Versus "In Which"
