in my opinion,the most memorable event in the novel,Catch Us If You can,was when rory and granda were on the run again after Norma had reported them to the police,and rory thought that granda had died.
Rory and Granda were waiting at Norma's house when norma's doughter,nicola,phoned to warn rory that her mother had reported them to the police.rory quickly packed food into his rucksack and he and granda climbeb up the hill behind the house.however,rory knew that the police would be searching the hills for them,so they had to move quickly.
rory and granda stumbled on in the cold and dark until they heard a police car in the distance.they ran towards the hedge and managed to hide before the police care could spot them,but granda was cold and exhousted.rory and granda stopped for a rest at a bus shelter and fell asleep.when rory woke up,granda was cold and pale,and rory thought that granda was dead.
this is the most memorable event in the book because it is an exciting and suspenseful scene.rory was terrified that his granda was dead,and he blamed himself for dragging granda from place to place without any rest.
